The Dark Shrouded Man

He shrugged as she didn't seem to understand his statement.

"It seems you don't know yet what I speak of," He turned away but said softly. "Your friend went to Westport, I can take you there if you desire. Don't worry I don't mean to harm you."

"Who are you?" He smiled slightly as she asked.

"My identity is unimportant," He turned back. "Your friend appears to have amnesia. Probably temporary but two women shouldn't travel alone these days. It is not as safe as it used to be."

Gertrude stood up and couldn't decide what to say. She could barely hear him whisper, "I miss the old days."

"It's your choice young lady," He glanced back at her. "You can come with me and be safer or go alone and take your chances with the weather and the bandits."

"You are going to help me for free?" She asked.

He laughed, "No, if you don't have the money, I'm sure that noble friend of yours does. Pay me whatever you have on you and I'll give you my word that I'll deliver you safely to your friend in Westport or die in the attempt." He rose and became even more menacing as he spoke, but his words bore conviction that he spoke the truth. "Meet me at the gate out of the city in an hour if you want to go."

  1. I kinda figured from his more rugged way of talking. I dont know if that was what you were going for but I thought it was a cool vibe. He reminded me of a cowboy or a bounty hunter... The cool kind. Plus Shilon is tending to his own mess in West Port right now.
