I ran as fast as I could through the wet alleyways of the market district with the Legend of Madness over my shoulder. My heart seemed to be smashing in my chest. The light of morning was growing closer. All that remained of festivities of the previous night was party debris and broken bottles of various alcoholics. The roads were deserted with the exception of the occasional drunken officer or passed-out clergyman.
I glanced back behind me to see if my pursuing seekers where still after me. I encountered four of them when leaving through the northern exit of Grim’s Tower. “THE LEGEND OF MADNESS MUST SURVIVE!” they had all said in unison. After a brief fight, I found that it would be in my best interest to run.
The rendezvous point was only a few hundred yards ahead. There would be horses there that I would use to have a more speedy escape.
The sound of shattering glass rang out behind me. I twisted my head to see a single Seeker quickly gaining on me; his spike tipped cleaver at the ready.
I reached my free hand into my stolen naval uniform and unstrapped three knifes. I spun around and hurled the three knifes at his location. Each of my weapons missed, but it did give me five additional feet of slack from my pursuer.
I considered dropping the girl, but then I would not receive the information I needed from Nila, regarding Chanielle. I considered turning and fighting this lone Seeker, but I’m sure the other Seekers would be close behind us. My mind ran through the possibilities, and the probable results.
I concluded that it would take nothing short of Yansen rising from the dead to assist my task in order for me to complete my tasks.
(Oh, Who could ever help Shilon?)
Please visit the sister site to light in the darkness and post your character's background and information there before posting on the story. You may also post descriptions of weapons (land dragons, etc) or places there. Your background doesn't have to be as lengthy as Snim's. Please read the interlude (there) and storyline posts (on this blog) before entering the story.
