Bounty Hunter

“Pardon…” A gruff voice said to three guards standing in front of the closed throne room within the administrative palace of Westport. “I got an invitation from Lord Lar about a month ago requesting some bounty work.”

“Oh, the bounty hunter” One of the guards said easing his sheathed Long-Cutlass “Lord Lar is in council. Come back in…”

“I ain’t picky about the company”, the bounty hunter said, walking past the guards and pushing through the closed doors. He was met on the other by two other guards who stopped him from progressing.

“You may not enter now sir. Council is in session.” One of the two interior guards whispered, placing a firm hand on the bounty hunters heavy hide trail coat. “You need to go back.”

“You wanna’ remove that hand from my shoulder, boy.” The bounty hunter’s silver eyes glared into the guard’s.

The guard looked down and removed his hand. “Sir we request that you please wait outside for Council to conclude.” The three exterior guards moved into the room and surrounded the bounty hunter.

The gruff older man glanced around. “Hmm, well then you best tell Lar that I’m waitin’ in the grey glass tavern for more info on my bounty.” The bounty hunter turned and brushed through the guards.

As the man walked toward the palace entrance a young page ran out of the council chamber with a scroll in his hands. “Sir, Wait!” The bounty hunter turned around. The page stopped in front of him and held out the scroll. “The information on your bounties as well as authorization to Jerican records.”

The Hunter took and unfurled the scroll. He held it close to his scarred face and then began to walk again toward the exit. “Thanks pup.”
