William

* A Quick Taber Flash *

I left that monk alive in the pile because I smelled something I liked more than I hated his smell. It smelled like a soldier, like a warrior, someone who might be able to give me a fight. I wandered out into the night and found him waiting for me, as if he too had sensed me.

I charged blindly at him as I had so many times before but he easily side-stepped and dodged under my claw. I quickly understood that he was going to be much tougher than the others.

* Now To William *

He was fast, I dodged again almost too slowly and he crashed into a building causing screams and panicking. I moved away and was unhappy I hadn't grabbed any of my unique weapons. The one weapon I did bring had already been broken by that massive blade of this monster.

He's fast, strong, immune to pain, unrelenting, and focused. Sounds like me when I get angry. That was it. I had to get myself into a frenzy if I wanted to even survive this fight, but going into a rage like that wasn't just a simple switch like it seemed with this beast.

He came at me again and I managed to dodge the blade but not the blow. His left hand impacted me squarely in the jaw and knocked me onto my back. The damage was insignificant but it hurt. I dodged the blade as he tried to stab me with it and I swung my feet over my head and pushed up and onto my feet, ducking just in time to avoid another attempt at decapitation. I couldn't do this any longer.

"You may smell me." I moved back into an alley.

"You may hear me." I continued onto a rooftop.

"But if you can't see me. I still hold the edge." He clamored onto the building but I was already several buildings away. I hope I bought them enough time to get Randy out.

I saw Bonita running on the streets below and I hurried down and ran into the woods after her. She went up a tree fast as the wind and I crept up beside her as slowly as could be. I could feel her exhaustion and her despair, her feelings of helplessness. She was so caught up in it she hadn't noticed me.

I braced myself a few feet below her where it was a little safer and whispered softly in her ear, "You are safe now Bonnie. I won't let anything hurt you." She was startled at first then, I saw her relax her grip; I pulled her down into my arms and held her tight as she cried on my shoulder. "Shh, you are safe now my little Bonnie." I'm not sure what calmed her down so much, whether it was something I said, time or my holding her but it was working. She calmed down and I just continued to hold her for some time.
