I watched over him helplessly. Shilon had set us up in a new room for the night. He said he would take care of me. I wasn't sure what he meant, but I was relieved at his reaction. I stroked Randy's face as I watched over his bedside. He had been unconscious for some time now, but he was dreaming of something furious. He would flinch occasionally or twist in pain.
With a warm cloth, I wiped away the blood from his brows and hair. I was surprised he had survived such blows (or at least I hoped). I was a little resentful that he called me " pint" but his eyes told me his mind was somewhere else. I gently kissed his brow, and he began to stir.
"Oh, Randy, please don't leave me. You're all I've got left, though I am sure you won't have me." He was in fact a monk, and I had to respect that. And he didn't trust me, I could see it in his eyes.
His eyes fluttered open for a moment, he looked at me with an odd expression. I could only imagine what he was thinking, since he was too weak to talk.
I stroked his face again, "Peace be unto you, my lord. You are safe here. Close your eyes, you need your rest." His expression softened, and he closed his eyes again. He moved his lips as if to say something, but I couldn't make out any words.
Please visit the sister site to light in the darkness and post your character's background and information there before posting on the story. You may also post descriptions of weapons (land dragons, etc) or places there. Your background doesn't have to be as lengthy as Snim's. Please read the interlude (there) and storyline posts (on this blog) before entering the story.
