*Crash!* Randy’s eyes fluttered open. Trying to react quickly he fumbled on the bed, consciousness brought new pain to existence as he could sense the wounds, blisters and cuts across his body. But he was quickly encouraged to be still. Randy was able to look over without too much pain. Amber?
“Now try not to move too much, I’ve set your leg.” she replied to his fumbling.
He was confused that Amber was there at all, but his mind still not fully up to speed he tried a battered smile but didn’t dare speak yet. Looking at the floor, he noticed the source of the clatter, a small pan with egg dashed about the place.
Mira, foreseeing the question answered. “Evidently medical procedures and combat are a lot easier than making breakfast” turning inward she mumbled to herself “should have just gone for the room service.” And began cleaning up the residue. “But how about you, how’s your-" feeling exasperated over if she really made the right decision, but that was all in the past now. Still distracted she finished, “everything?”
Randy wasn’t even sure this was really happening but chose to react like he would in any other situation. Best to be the person you really are whether in reality or dream because you are you despite reality and your circumstances, Master Moomow you’re a great man. “I’m just” winching in pain, “fine” he lied, but still rusty on his speech and not quite sure how to treat this new ally, he said distracting from his current situation “what’s the situation? Bonita ok? the mai-” stopping his speech knowing that it was unlikely the maid survived.
Trying to break the ice, Mira interrupted, “what can you remember?”
(This thought paragraph all done in Randy’s head in less than ten seconds)
Oh, bother Randy thought to himself he didn’t feel like talking he wanted- oh no, the boat! Gah, I’ll have to get a new ticket. Sitting up slowly, the skin rebelled at the premature bending, unleashing red into some of the bandages, Randy ignored it, new leg, better ribs, that thing was a beast. One thing for sure that I will never do that again, how stupid must I have been to tackle a 9ft monster, must think of the ramifications, but I had to save the mai- no use in thinking about it now just got to do better. Looking into his friend's eyes and holding out his arm.“little bit of help please” she paused what he was doing, so he continued “come along no rest for the weary.”
