(I guess I'll do this post.)
She didn't respond to my first question so I asked another.
"You have a letter for me?" I asked, keeping her from seeing my face. She looked terrified and yet undaunted by her fall. She had talent, but it had yet to be refined.
"Here you go," She handed me the letter.
I smirked as she stepped closer, "Hey wait, I know you. You're that tribal girl William saved in the forest."
The other did not seem pleased as she attempted to place my voice. I could see the rage inside her as she evidently placed it.
I took the letter before she tried to keep it from me and said, "Look, I wasn't after you. I wasn't going to hurt you, truly. I have some honor left and I intend to keep it. Hurting hapless women is uncouth." I then recomposed myself and jumped topside to read the letter. The tribal girl followed me, a bit slowly. I motioned to the darkness and the pit disappeared and Mira walked over to me.
"Amber?" Bonita protested. "What are you doing here?"
She didn't get a reply as I read the letter carefully and smiled broadly, "Mira, take this girl and go to the dark district. You are looking for a man about her age and unbelievably skilled. Tell him Shilon can help him with something he wants but he has to help me first." I paused, "Oh and whatever you do, try to smell like death. The creature there, you would be almost invisible if the smell of death encompassed you."
I didn't care for her, not exactly. It was more like she was a tool and this tool was still useful. Just keep telling yourself that and it might come true. Having just one person to look after was tough enough.
Please visit the sister site to light in the darkness and post your character's background and information there before posting on the story. You may also post descriptions of weapons (land dragons, etc) or places there. Your background doesn't have to be as lengthy as Snim's. Please read the interlude (there) and storyline posts (on this blog) before entering the story.

Ok for clarification, the letter holds the location of Shilon's daughter and her next location. It won't change because Nila, being the awesome super spy she is, used the memory powder on Tristy. So basically, if no one informed her, she wouldn't even know she'd been captured.
ReplyDeleteLord Snim again. I gotcha, the final paragraph confused me a little, but now I gotcha. Sounds good, and nice post.
