Bartholomew

Bartholomew stood looking out the window of his fortress with his captive a few feet behind him, chained and on her knees. She was badly scarred and bruised from what had been days of torture, but still she had said nothing, not even a retort. The only clothes she had on were rags that barely covered her and the only reason she had those is because Bartholomew didn't wish to see her naked, she would be once she went back down to her torture.

He turned back to her, "Tell me what I wish to know and I'll set you free."

He walked over and lifted her chin, "Be reasonable Cordell. Yes I know your name and I knew your mother. She was a remarkably skilled warrior and nearly joined my cause." She didn't let her face portrait the interest in her heart. He stepped back and began to pace, "Seeing as I'm a forgiving person, you can take the place I offered her so long ago, but I know you won't take it."

She dropped her head again her spirit was almost destroyed and Bartholomew knew it, "If you won't tell me than you will die in this place."

She stood up and looked defiantly at him, this was the first time she had reacted in such a way and she spoke, "He's going to come for me and he's going to kill you. One way or another."

Bartholomew hesitated for a moment, she shouldn't have been able to stand much less stand with the chains weighing her down. He shook it off, "Take her back down and continue where you left off."

She lunged at him but the chained reached their limit and she fell into the ground inches from him. He leaned down and whispered, "You will never see your beloved rescuer." He stood and spoke to the guard, "Take her eyes first, then go back to where you were."

He looked back out the window at the distant view and smiled, Westport you will help me immensely and be the downfall of this world. It is a shame you have to burn.
