Bonnie
What was this creature they were all talking about anyway? I didn't get a very good look at him when the lightening shined on him. He didn't look human, that's for sure. Perhaps he was one of those werewolves my elders had spoke of, but everyone assumed that was only a story. Either way, I did not want to be in it's path.
"I wish we could get out of here, it's a death trap. I hope my brother makes it out. . .though, he is a very clever boy." I tried to reassure myself. Will's hand tightened around mine as he tried to comfort me. My whole life had changed in an instance those many months ago. All because I had taken Randy's rations. Part of me regretted it and wished I could take it all back, but another part of me (a part I had never known before) was glad to have had such adventures with Will by my side nearly the whole time.
I let my mind wander as we ran through the darkness, it was much better than worrying about death. I was so caught up in my thoughts that I almost didn't hear the shrill screams coming from the darkness. "Mira?" I asked Will, incoherently.
Before Will could say anything, someone grabbed my from behind and pulled me away from Will. I wanted to scream, but his hand was covering my mouth. I started to panic again, until I heard a familiar voice whisper in my ear, "I think I've found a way out."
"What has happened to Mira?" Will interjected.
"The guards have got her, I was able to get away. They'll be looking for me. But I suspect they will be taking her somewhere first. They have torches to see in the dark. Seems to me, if they are smart they will be wanting to get out of here before the monster gets them."
"How did you. . .?" I was about to ask, but it wasn't really important.
"if we follow them quietly, they will surely lead us to an exit." Anuja informed us.
What other choice did we have at this point? On the other hand, what if the guards were taking her to the creature?

William
I thought we were finally headed in the right direction until we entered a large, dark room. We could hear the rain peppering the windows above us.
"Not the usual approach but, it's a way out." I grinned at her.
A bolt of lightening flashed, illuminating the room momentarily and revealing the eerie truth. This was the place the delegates had been held in while something butchered them.
Our eyes adjusted to the darkness and I grimaced, "This is just like that monster's work from the dark districts. It's beginning to branch out, looking for more prey."
"But--" Bonita stammered. "It can't be that hungry it had plenty of-" She hesitated saying it, "Food."
I stood up and wrapped my arms around her, "I said looking for prey, not food. It's intelligent enough only to be dangerous. It probably isn't safe for me to be here."
"Why?"
"Because I'm the one that got away," I said as a lightening bolt illuminated my frame and another from across the way. "Run."
Bonita ran out the door and I was right behind her, I guess the guards that were supposed to contain it failed in their duty, probably they just ran. A few minutes later we heard voices around a corner and paused. The creature had temporarily lost us in the labyrinth of halls and doorways.
"I don't know what he wants exactly," One of them spoke. They were coming closer, "Something about-"
I jumped from around the corner and punched the one who was speaking in the throat and slammed the other into the wall. I then proceeded to knock the other one out. I picked up a sword and tossed it to Bonita before picking up the other one.
"I have a feeling we'll need these."
We continued walking quietly down the halls.
Events .
Damien walks into the hallway with a bloody knife. “So sad he had to go out of order.”
Some guards came up. Damien “the general is indisposed. Tell me the matter.”
“There appears to be two rebel groups on the run in the hallway Sir”
Damien “Focus all your men on the group closet to the exit, smother them. I’ll handle the other.”
“And of the beast?”
“Let him rampage, just contain him in the main room till he settles down.”
----back at “safety”
Cricket cricket, the noise seemed to be maddening to the protectors of Tamitha. The only thing that disturbed the peaceful quiet was the occasional snore of pathetic Randy.
“do you-
“Stop”
“But what about-
“Look, if the prophetess wants us to stay here, we’re going to stay here.”
“But the-“
“And if he snores all night, we’ll just have to- "
ZZGHT! Interrupted by Randy’s snore.
“We’ll be fine”
“What if the prophetess is in trouble?”
…
“I like jello…” Tamitha grinned as the frantic people threw their plates in the air.
---in the hallways
Drawing closer to his prey he could hear them chatting around a corner. “Will’s partner?” Damien rolled it around in his head. If this is The Will that I’ve heard so much about that would mean his partner is-"
The two scurried off after a few moments and hearing more guards come closer. “Sir have you seen them?”
“Jericans I have a fantastic mission for you, guide them to an exit, I think I’ve found a weakness to this Will.”
Mira
I don't know who this kid was, but he was sure getting on Will's nerves. It was funny. Will obviously wanted to be the leader of our group, but this kid kept butting in and acting like he was in charge. After what seemed like hours, a new leader stopped us. Everything was quiet. Maybe a little too quiet. Though, I welcomed the rest.
I sat on the damp floor by this kid as Will and Bonnie disappeared into the darkness. "So what's your story?" I asked him. It was unusual for me to talk to someone my own age, let alone a boy.
"Anuja. Bon's brother, came to bring her back to our tribe to be our military leader. You?"
"Mira. I was spying on Bonnie and Will, but I am now released from my duty."
He gave me an odd look, "why is that? I mean, why were you spying and how come you don't have to anymore?"
"Long story short, a girl they were with had something I was supposed to be protecting. She was taken away from them into captivity. I met up with Will's partner and fell in love. So my master cut me off."
"Oh, " he bowed his head, "if it's the girl I'm thinking of, she's dead. They freed her from captivity, but then she took an arrow for William. Apparently there was a love triangle."
"Yes, he was pretending to be the other girl's husband."
"Weird. So where's his partner now?"
I gasped, I had forgotten about Randy's current situation, "Oh no! He laid up in bed from being mutilated by the creature that lives under the city. We've got to get back to him soon, Will suspects there's something amiss with the little girl who was helping me take care of him."
"Little girl? I nearly tripped over a little girl on my way over here. How strange. But honestly, what harm can a little girl do?"
Anuja
Here you go buddy, now's your moment to pounce! I gave the string the tiniest pull, the guards did the rest. Hilarious! After releasing all of their arrows they turned and saw me laughing at them. Yes, not one of my best moves there, but everyone makes mistakes. Luckily, when they turned to chase me they got tangled up in my "web" and were tripping all over each other. I wish I could have stayed and watched them try to get free, but that was my cue to exit.
I ran down the dark corridors, jumping over guards and dodging waiters. I could have swore I nearly tripped over a little girl too, but I don't know what a little girl would be doing hanging out with Jerican guards. Somehow I managed to find the others. "There's some guys chasing me who want me dead." I declared, in kind of a bragging tone.
Without much thought, they all started running down the dark corridors. "Uh, I don't think you want to. . ." A door swung open suddenly as a fat man came through ranting about how his meal was ruined. "go that way." finished. We all cringed as Will hit the door with a thud.
Bon caught him, and I quickly grabbed him from her and threw him over my shoulder. Gosh, he was heavy! I only carried him a few yards when we came to and started kicking me, "Put me down, you buffoon! I am perfectly able to run! You're wasting time!"
"As you wish, your highness." Still a little bitter about being his slave boy, I dropped him flat on his hind quarters and continued running, just one more person to run from.
The corridors seemed to go on forever and we were all starting to get tired. We were all in pretty good shape, but even we had our limits. I stopped and held my hand out for the others to do the same. It was very quiet. After a few moments I whispered to the group, "I think we lost them."

Damien
Captain of the West Port Jerican Guard
I began to scream at my lieutenant who was standing dumbfounded on the stage. “Go after the escapees, Franklin, and light the D#$* beacon. I will not let this operation fall through!” I looked about and found that several of the delegate’s bodyguards had begun contending with my men. “And get all of our men in here!”
This off the cuff stuff really makes me… uncivil. I walked to the edge of the balcony and began to shout at the crowd, “I hereby make a declaration of… well I don’t necessarily… but this nation makes a declaration of war on all of you people… Wait… Yes, right, I have the authority!” That sounded terrible. Maybe I should add something else. “And All your base are belong to us! And…” I was stopped from my incoherent rambling by a middle aged Jerican who looked very familiar, but I could not quite place his name.
“ Sir, you had best prepare my promotion, because I have brought a bit of a surprise.” The man hollered to me.
What was his name? Drake, Daniel, Danton; no it was an odd name. DAMIEN, that’s right. Now I don’t think he was assigned to this post. What was it I had sent him to do?
Several patrols of Jerican began shuffling into the large dance hall and started to contend with the bodyguards and some of the unruly delegates. My lieutenant sprinted back into the room and told me that the beacon had been lit.
I smiled at Damien. “I really don’t have any idea what you are talking about, but we should probably leave now.” No sooner had I said this than a great panic started up from behind the kitchen doors. Several cooks and waiters ran out into the frenzy of delegates and Jerican. “What the devil has gotten into that lot?”
My question was answered as a horrific roar came out of the kitchen. Several members of the crowd stopped their contending and looked into the kitchen. They were all flung back by a massive arm that was soon followed by a gnarly head that somewhat bore the resemblance to my Aunt Claire. But my dark humor aside, it was at that instant that I felt truly pressed to leave.
William
The doors closed and the man began to speak. The speech, however, was cut short by a commotion in the upper deck area. I saw the bows notched and ready to fire, I looked closer and saw a tiny string attach at the top of some of the bows and suddenly the bows aim sprang upwards and released hitting into the giant chandelier that held ALL the lights in the room. The crowd drew apart and I grabbed Bonita and slammed through the nearest closed door.
There were no guards here. I hurried with Bonita down a series of passages and saw Mira sitting in a small room.
"Mira," I said calmly. "We have to get out of here." The look on her face made me cringe, "Don't say anything about what I'm wearing or I'll kill you."
Moments later Anuja appeared in the doorway and smirked, "Well how'd my distraction work? Oh and there are some guys chasing me who want me dead."
Tamitha
Before anyone could call on me to perform I dashed quickly out a side door.
I had to bring Randy food, and then I would go back to rescue my friend. Hopefully she won't get herself into too much trouble. Though, I don't think she will, seeing as that handsome guard is taking care of her. . . Wait, Off limits?
I noticed a sign on the door that I had passed on the way out, it seemed to be on a lot of doors. (I did not go out the same door as Mira, it was on the opposite side of the room).
Hello adventure! I set the cello case next to a wall, and crept back into the ballroom. I had to see what was behind that door. I couldn't help myself. I loved exploring, especially when someone tells me not to. I got down on my hands and knees and began to crawl towards the door. I love being small, except that fat chef almost stepped on me. When I was sure no one was looking, I pushed the door open and crawled through.
It was very dark on the other side of that door, but there were nearly as many people lurking about. I was amazed none of the guards saw me when I came through the door, the light would have been blinding. I quickly crawled to a corner and sat there huddled so I could watch what was going on without risking being seen. I just hope no one finds a torch. Who knows what they would do if anyone saw me.

Captain of the West Port Jerican Guard
I watched with great glee from a small balcony overlooking the dance hall as my young Lieutenant led a young lady to the stage. She was very attractive, I might add. Dark hair, young face, a slender, yet able build; she was certainly not Bartholomic or Tribal; maybe a little bit northern. She seemed to be a muttery of several nationalities, but enough of that.
I feel so much better now. Everything is going exactly according to plan. My men are in position, Bart’s Land Thingys will begin their siege when war has been declared, and hopefully my Jerican patrols have cleared our escape route through the sewers.
Wait… Franklin is telling her something… I wonder what the rascal is up to. Franklin pulled his head back and the girl blushed a magnificently reddish color. He then leaned close again and told her something else. Wow! I have never seen skin color change so many tones. The poor girl is as white death. I giggled a bit to myself and watched as the young lady raised what looked to be a trombone.
Now if I may go off on a bit of a tangent, Trombones are a West Island instrument. They are not a usual sight in a formal performance, but I guess West Port is supposed to be a little bit more open minded.
Actually the girl did look a little bit Islan-… Nevermind, She doesn’t look Islandish in the slightest.
My lieutenant seemed to be getting a little bit short tempered with the girl. She put the trombone down and they shared a short exchange of words. I took a small sip of beverage and when I looked up the young lady had fled the stage. I heard some laughs and remarks coming from the audience, but I could not see what was happening in the back of the stage.
The lieutenant and the girl soon reappeared as dear Franklin led her out of the room through a small door that had written on it “Off Limits”. Hang on a bit Frank, you aren’t supposed to take any of the guests through there. What? Do you think you are going to take the girl with us? Yes, a stunning character, but please. Where did my master of protocol go?
Lieutenant Franklin returned through the door and walked onto the stage, a small piece of parchment in his hands. He hushed the crowd and began to read from the paper. I could have just read it. Oh, how silly of me.
Mira
"Uh-hem!" The handsome young Franklin grunted. "Play something." He mumbled to me as he kept a fake grin on his face.
"Play something?" I asked, more to myself than to him.
"Come now, we don't have all day. Do something." he kept mumbling, "you're embarrassing me in front of the captain."
I stood up. I didn't know what to do. "I am sorry, but I cannot play for you, I have forgotten my bow." I was about to leave the stage when someone from the crowd yelled out, "then sing!"
Franklin nodded to me and persuaded me back onto the stage. I was so nervous, I had never sang before.
When I opened my mouth something terrible happened! I quickly cupped my hand over my mouth and ran to the nearest exit. Luckily there was a barrel right outside the door.
Once I had finished puking my guts out, I looked back towards the door. Franklin was there watching. How embarrassing!
"I am sorry dear lady," I wrapped his arm around my shoulders and wiped my chin with his handkerchief, "had I known you had stage fright I never would have asked you."
He led me back inside, but instead of taking me to the main ballroom, he took me to a room just down the hall. "I think you should rest here, where it's not so loud. I have to give a speech now, but I will return shortly to see how you are feeling."
Building up of Epicness
Franky looked over when he heard the strange howl, holding a massive plate of jell-o bits and fish chips, against his hip as his boss continued to orchestrate the masses. "Franky, get the orderves out there," "check sorry" he replied waddling out into the crowd balancing now two big plates. "ordervs for you two lovely ladies?"

Taber Leveret
I left my ‘leftovers’ flopping about in the main tunnel I had been wandering in and I ventured into an auxiliary tunnel where a very stagnant mix of smells filled the air.
I followed the scent down the tunnel until I had come to a series of grates. I peered up through them one-by-one until I had come to what appeared to be a large kitchen. Inside the kitchen were several thin cooks who were scrambling about trying to prepare food.
None of them looked at all tasty. They smelled like the common rats that infested the dark districts, which I have had my fair share of. I fear that my pallet has become slightly pickier, that is as long as I eat before I fall into my frenzied state. Those Jerican were delicious; each one of them in fine physical shape, offering a much tougher, juicier meat than any of those sticks in the dark District.
As I was contemplating the taste of the cooks, a very fat man entered the room and began barking, with a very piercing voice, various things that he did not approve of. My eyes became fixed on the man, for I have never seen such a large and flabby person. I had tasted several obese individuals, but this man seemed… scrumptious.
-Inside the kitchen-
“Hurry up there Miss Turnhole, that sort of work may have been acceptable in that orphanage, but it won’t cut chicken crap here. Mr. Tucker, what are you doing with that bird, it needs to have been done a half-hour ago. Does no one understand that the Delegates are already beginning to arrive? Am I the only capable individual here? Oh, Faunce, let me see how that pudding tastes.”
(Little bit' short and sloppy, but I have to film a zombie movie)

Tamitha
Once the shop was a good distance away, we ditched the chair and went to find another costume.
"It's too bad Randy can't come with us, he'll miss all the excitement." Mira beamed as we tried on several different gowns.
"Yes, well, I am sure he will be fine. I told my other friends to look after him." She gave me an odd look but brushed away any thought she was having and went on looking at the different clothes.
I had seen my followers lurking about outside the shop, and had excused myself so I could have a word with them. They are not very good at pretending, shame.
"Alright, now that we have our gowns, how should we introduce ourselves?" I asked Mira.
She took a moment to think about it, then suggested, "Lady Margaret and her sister Lady Tallulah."
I giggled, such silly names, "I like it! You can be Tallulah!"
She chased me all the way back to the hotel. She was so delightful, it was as if she'd never had a day of fun in her life.
Captain of the West Port Jerican Gaurd
The tailor moved me to a row of mirrors and asked if I approved of his fitting. I thought it looked… posh and gave him my approval. I have a small envy of great wealth, but I really care very little for the fashion that comes with it. I enjoy my uniform and my frank street ware. It would be difficult wearing these tights and frothy cuffs all the day, not to mention the lack of space for a gutter or two. I felt very posh, indeed, with this pathetic rapier hanging loosely from my belt.
I left the dressing room and returned shortly with my Jerican style scimitar, but its rough leather sheath contrasted far too much with my attire and I soon threw it back in my pile of office dress.
I put on some fanciful shoes and hobbled uncomfortably to the main hall where the very first of the guest were being permitted to enter. I was greeted by one of my lieutenants, who seemed to be more stressed than I. (Franklin I believe was his name… No… Yeah, Franklin. Very good Lad, very dependable.) “I hate early people. Don’t you Frank?” I jested to him.
He stared at me for a moment and then realized I was trying to make a merry joke. “Oh… Yes sir, Very… annoying.”
“Well put. What’s the word from outside the eggshell?”
He chewed on the eggshell question for a moment and then answered. “The egg… Ah, right sir. Fleet Admiral Tornallis is beginning to close the harbor as we speak. Any ships trying to get in will be seized and any ships trying to get out will be burnt.”
“Sound good, and the force east of the walls?” (If I may just add that I have an odd sort of personality and the dear lieutenant is a very text bookish individual, and often has a hard time stepping out of his very structured conversational habits. He is in no way unintelligent, just stiff)
“They should arrive on time. The, umm… mobile fortresses or Land Dragons as General Talinoss continues to emphasis…”
“…And he does emphasis it, doesn’t he? Don’t you think that is a little childish Lieutenant? LAND DRAGONS!! What sort of a name is that for a weapon of war? Anyway continue.”
“Umm… right. One of the Land Dragons, unfortunately, has broken down in transit and so only four will arrive with the main force.”
I chewed on the information and figured it wouldn’t be a major change in plan. “That will be fine. Will all of our agents be ready for the dinner surprise?”
“Yes Sir.”
I thought for a moment more and then looked at my Lieutenant, who seemed like a perfectly capable, handsome, and intelligent fellow. “Excellent Franklin, I just have one slight change in plan.”
“What is that, Sir?” He held up a piece of parchment, I assumed he was taking notes on.
A huge smile came over my face and I placed a hand on his shoulder. “You, my good man, are giving my dinner speech.”
Don't forget the ordervs!
Bonni and Anu
After putting on his new uniform, Anu glared in disgust, "This is the best you could do? I look like a sissy! Come on, couldn't you have gotten me some kind of armor or something? I don't want to be anyone's foot man."
I had to admit, he did look a little froo froo, "Well, at least you don't have to wear a dress." I tried not to look disgusted, "Will wants us to look like royalty, so you will wear that and you won't complain." I scolded Anu, though secretly wishing the same thing he did.
"How do I look?" Will came out in his equally froo froo outfit. We couldn't help but laugh.
"How long before this stupid ball, anyway?" Anu complained, "I can't wait to put on normal clothes again."
"Soon enough, brother. Now, you know the plan, right?" I looked sternly at him.
"Yes, yes. Of course! How could I forget? You only told me a million times!" He rolled his eyes at me.
"I won't have that kind of behavior tonight, understand?"
He rolled them again,"whatever, you're not in charge of me. . ."
"Yet." Will and I said in unison.
"You guys are boring. Besides, if you really wanted to come home you wouldn't be frolicking about, and wouldn't be going by your civilian name." He shot back.
"What?"
"No, I do not want to go back. What do I have to return to? More scorn and rejection? No. I will never use that name again. If I hear you even mutter it, you will be dead to me as well."
William
He wanted to come with us, I personally thought it would be a mistake but I wasn't going to stop this kid from coming along since I knew he'd just follow us if we told him he couldn't.
We were approaching the gates into Westport, we had to stop for supplies before continuing on to the cache, that and I hoped to find Randy and bring him. Anuja looked a little concerned.
"Are you sure it's safe to go in there?" He asked. "I've heard stories of this place."
I glanced over at him, "It's safe as long as you are with me and we are gone before nightfall or at least not in the dark district, but if you're too scared you could make your way around the city and wait on the other side."
My comment made Bonita's face pale but Anuja just tried to look unafraid, "I'm not scared."
I smirked, yes he was just a kid trying to play warrior but maybe I could train him too. He seemed like Randy a little but less serious and more devoted to mischief. My father found a way to train Randy, perhaps I could teach this kid. I knew Bonita would appreciate it.
"Stop there, what's your business in Westport?" A man asked.
I knew a little more than I had let on about what had been happening to Bonita's people and I let it slip so we could get back in, security seemed abnormally tight today and I'd need a good excuse.
"Can't you see I'm transporting slaves for the market?" Anuja didn't currently have his staff but now he looked like he wished he had it. I turned back and whispered, "Just don't say anything and if they come back don't look them in the eye, I'll explain in a minute."
Bonita looked confused but only because she evidently didn't know the extent of slavery her people were in.
The guards came closer and Bonita easily passed off as a slave since she'd been running and hiding with me more. Anuja wanted to defy it and attack, so I had to act. I hit him across the face, much harder than I intended, and knocked him clean from the carriage. I jumped down and put my dagger to his throat before he had a change to recover.
"Give anyone a look like that again and I'll slit your throat," I said menacingly. He didn't move, he didn't speak. I was afraid for a moment that he wouldn't stand back up, but he did and he sat down without fighting.
Bonita whispered something in his ear and he visibly relaxed. The guard looked shocked but believed it, "You can pass." The guard started walking but to his post but turned back, "On second thought, take the kid to the slave market but bring the girl to the polital ball tonight. I'm certain some of the delegates there would love to have her," He chose his word carefully, "Entertain them."
I laughed with him and continued inside the city. Once out of ear shot I spoke to Anuja, "Sorry about that. They would have killed you without a moment's hesitation whether they thought you were a slave or not giving them that look. The only thing a slave did for you was make it less likely cause they'd have had to pay me for my losses. Don't worry we aren't actually going to the slave market."
We made our way to the market district and to a good friend of mine's office. I walked inside and smirked.
"William!" The man exclaimed. Vahn Grey was in excellent physical condition, considering he was such a wealthy merchant. "What brings you back this way? I'd heard you left town."
I nodded, "I had before that let me introduce you to some friends." Bonita and Anuja walked in, "This is my g--," I was going to say girlfriend but I caught on this word because of the brother. "Good friend Bonita and her brother Anuja." Everyone in the room, including Anuja, knew what I was going to say so it had done little good.
Grey smirked, "Very nice." He shook each of their hands.
"This is a very old friend of mine, Vahn Grey," I continued. "I need supplies for--" I was interupted by the door opening and I didn't turn around.
"Vahn Grey," I recognized the low, deep voice. "I need some information. Who are they?"
I knew the voice and I wanted to turn around and stab him through the heart but I calmly turned around and he looked half in shock, "Shilon, it's good to finally meet you again."
"William?" He was not sure his eyes told the truth. "So you were the shadowed warrior that killed the Keilranny(sp?) king."
I nodded, "Maybe we can help each other."
He tried not to look like he cared I was alive, "What could you possibly offer me?"
"My skills," I said calmly. "You know I'm better than you. I just wasn't using a sword last time we fought."
He gave no argument but made a face of disgust, "And what can I give you?"
"Mira's location."
"Never."
"Then I will never help you recover your precious daughter," I turned back to Grey.
A strong hand fell on my shoulder and spun me around, "Why do you want to know where she is?"
"She is where Randy is," I answered. "Like you were with my father, I and Randy are. I fear they might be in danger as well."
"From what?"
"I don't know exactly," I spoke quietly. "All I know is that if the seekers call someone master, they are not likely a good person."
Shilon didn't answer, "I'll tell you where they are likely to appear. They have been pretending to be people other than themselves."
"The polital ball," Bonita and Anuja said in unison.
Shilon nodded, "I do not know for certain they will go but they might. Other than that I have had difficulty playing my role for the Order and keeping tabs on her."
"I'll be back Grey," I turned to walk out.
"Wait," I stopped and turned back. Grey tossed my a small whistle. "If you need help blow on that."
I handed the whistle to Bonita, "She needs it more. Let's go."
We left and made our way to the place we had been staying when I was a noble, the place had been paid for several months so it should be mine still. Better costumes and identities needed to be worked out.
(Pardon if I made any incorrect assumptions.)

Anuja
I had been following them for a couple of days, but lost track of them when they went to rescue their friend. She was cute, it was a shame she died. I was impressed by the man's skills, I would have intervened if he wasn't capable of taking on those scum himself, I didn't think he had it in him.
It was strange seeing my sister this way. I had never known her to show any affection for anyone, especially not some "wealthy snob." Though, he didn't quite fit the part.
I was jumping from tree to tree, above their heads in hopes they wouldn't see me. The long winter was finally over and the trees had started blossoming again.
Kissing? My sister? I was so confused that I didn't notice a little rodent sneaking up on me. Those beady little eyes and bushy tail, *shudder* I hate squirrels! He jumped on my back and started nibbling my hair. As I tried to bat him away, the branch beneath me snapped and I fell with a crash. Luckily, the carriage caught me. I had to think fast, I couldn't let them know I fell. No, I had to make them think I was attacking them. It would make me look better. I had to think fast. I grabbed my broken spear and then grabbed my sister's neck.
I have to admit, I will never forget the looks on their faces! Classic! After my sister and I explained to the curious man who I was, he proceeded to tell me who he was and what he was doing with my sister.
"Oh, sounds exciting! Mind if I join?" Like they really had a choice. I was not going to let them out of my sight even for a minute. This could make things a little awkward, but it was my duty!
"So, What are we going to do with all that junk when we find it?" referring to the weapon cache Will was so eager to find. "If it were up to me, I'd bury them or destroy them. Why can't we all just get along?" I grinned as I wrapped Will and Bon in a bear hug. Yes, I was annoying, but that too was my duty.
(if you guys want to post for him you can, just remember he's a prankster and not at all serious about anything. Kind of like Randy, only younger and with no remorse.)

Tamitha and the others
Randy just shook his head in disgust.
"Look, I didn't mean anything by it. I was just trying to make small talk." the man tried to cover his rudeness.
"Well, don't pay him any mind, dear."Mira chimed in,"I am sure he didn't realize what he was saying. " Turning to the man, "No, sir. I do not think we will be attending any ball tonight. And not because of my handicap, mind you. It's just that, you said it was political, by that I would assume that only ranking people would be invited. As you can see, we would not be considered soldiers by anyone's standards."
Nice one! Randy threw her a glance.
"That's just what I mean! Here they are trying to take over our town, and we don't have any say in the matter!" The man threw down his bar mop, "I say, the lot of us, we go down there and show those snobs who's boss around her!"
"Yeah!" Tamitha chimed in, "Let's kick some butt!"
Mira gave her a scolding look.
"Uh, I mean, yes, that'd be an awfully good idea. Don'cha think so, mate?" Tamitha said as she elbowed Randy.

Captain of the West Port Jerican Guard
After I had ordered the young women removed Lord Lar leaped to his feet. “WHAT IS THE MEANING OF THIS?!”
I put his temper aside and took out my imperial warrant. I then read it to the boiling man. “High Martial Magistrate Henry Gilden Lar, You are to be put under imperial protection and removed from West Port immediately as this city will soon be deemed unsafe for all ranking magistrates. You will then be taken to Iron Station, where you will await further instu…
“IRON STATION!! That is a prison!” Lord Lar Screamed out.
“Where you will await, indefinitely, for further instruction. Signed by his royal majesty, King Robert Bartholomew, Lord of the Central and Eastern Kingdom.” I lowered the page and ordered my men to seize Lord Lar, who gave quite a struggle.
“GET YOUR HANDS OFF ME!!! GET OFF, YOU DOGS!!! I WILL HAVE ALL OF YOUR HEADS!!!” He screamed as my men dragged him away.
I stood silently for a minute, enjoying the décor of the room. It must be hard for him, living in such splendor and then having it all taken away. I moved to Lord Lar’s cushioned chair and sat down. I tilted my head back and relaxed for the first and probably last time of that day. My eyes closed and I went over the lines that I would have to give to the delegates at the ball this evening.
I had almost fallen asleep when a sharp thump caused me to leap from my seat. I turned to a closed curtain where the source of the sound must have originated. I called out to a deputy to assist me, but none were in earshot. I crept quietly to the curtain and slowly slipped a dueling knife from my boot. I slid the curtain back and found one of Lord Lar’s “Entertainments” out cold on the floor. I checked the girl for a pulse and found a steady beat.
I was about to move the girl out of the room when a voice came from behind. “Don’t bother Captain Derrenal, that young lady will soon awake. I didn't want any witnesses, even if they are my own.”
I spun around and found an unfortunately familiar face. “Nila, You sure know how to sneak up on a person.” I jested.
She did not give any sign of amusement. “Did anyone in your intelligence networks find any leads on the whereabouts of the key components I spoke to you about?”
“I’m afraid we have been a little bit busy with other things.” I laughed. “Speaking of which, how has it been trying to find a new base of operations.”
Again, no expression change. “You are a fool to think that my hand does not reach farther than West Port, Jerican.” She finally put on a smile. “What makes you think Bartholomew will have any use of you when this city falls?”
“Well, I have always wanted to be a farmer.” I joked back. “But seriously, no one in my network has found anything about those key components. However, I just received word about an hour ago that the one they was originally found with the key was killed in an attempted escape.”
“What?” Nila’s voice sounded angry. I confess it was frightening. This lady had killed many of my Jerican, and so I knew when I should cut the taunting.
“That’s all I know, not specifics on that report.” I said matter-of-factually
Nila stood silently for a moment and then walked to the knocked out girl and woke her. Her voice changed to that of impassiveness. “I recommend that you release the remaining young ladies. It looks like I will have to reassign them to another political figure. I just hope that your men are still alive." She and her agent started to walk out of the room when Nila turned again. "Good luck with that farm."
(Sorry it is choppy, my parents are screaming at me to clean the chicken coop)
so much for recovery
Mean while the seekers began to panic, short seeker: “where did they go off to!?!” running around trying to find them, tall seeker: “a crippled man, a ninja and a little girl shouldn’t be this hard to find!”
In the sewers---
Damien was slightly panicked for his life the beast had run threw half of the jerican staff and was continuing to pick them off one by one.
“Oh man I wish I was topside assassinating some delegates, there at least pansies soft worms that need execution.”
Covered in his comrades’ blood “thanks ken” he played dead three times in order to get past the ferocious beast. Survival was not going to be easy. Then an idea popped into his head “wait lord B. and the polatitons” he grinned evilly “Lord Bartholomew will be pleased. A cover up and the pray won’t even know we’re going to attack and the extra guards slay it and I get all the credit.”
Damian began to run off hooting and hollering, caroling and drawing the beast “must go faster”
Back in the ice-cream shop.
The man behind the counter looked aquardly at the group and after Randy made eye contact he decided to speak. “So you gents going to the political ball tonight?”

Carigin the magnificient! aka Mira
"Perfect!" she winked, "watch this!"
She then ran in front of me and dropped her face on Randy's knees, "Oh daddy! This is horrible! What has become of you!" Her tears looked very real, I could tell she had done this before. Then turning to the crowd, "I beg of you! My daddy is all I have left in this world! I have been struck with the plague!" the crowd gasped and a few coins were tossed into Randy's sack. "Have you no heart? A dying little girl only wishes to go mountain climbing with her dearest dad, and that's all you can give? I pity you!" then off to the side she whispered, "you're turn again."
"Look at these poor wretches. Will you toss them aside like your sewer beast has tossed aside all of your loved ones. You don't want this poor baby to suffer a similar state, do you? Come now, have a heart!" We continued like this for some time.
As the people's eyes filled with tears the money flowed heavily. Until finally, Tamitha thought we had sufficient funds, "Thank you kind strangers! No my father can have that operation to fix his legs! Now go, be with your families. Tell them how much you love them, for you never know where tragedy will strike next!"
After the crowd had dispersed, "Wow, that gave me such a rush, like I'd never felt before. No wonder you guys like to do this." I sighed as I pulled off the scratchy hat and mustache. "We will have to do this again sometime. Now what was it again that we wanted? Oh yes, Ice cream. A dish only served to royalty. But wait, you two will have to get into another disguise so that they won't recognize you."

Bonnie
"Are you certain no one is following us?" I whispered as I peered back over his shoulder. I could have sworn I heard something.
"I still feel bad we had to ditch the child, but I am not used to children. She was so agitating. Back in my village children were not allowed near warriors, no matter how young the warriors are."
A sad expression came over William's face. I confirmed what he suspected before he could respond, "after my mother left, the chief started training me to be a warrior. I was forbidden to play with any of the children. Oh, how my heart yearned for their companionship, but the chief would not have it. He wouldn't even allow me to call him father. I was to address him as a warrior. Until I met you, I always assumed he was not really my father. You see, all the children called him father, out of respect. When I was with my mother, we lived in a separate dwelling. It all makes sense now. I guess, maybe in a way, Tami annoyed me because she has something that was stolen from me: innocence."
Will just wrapped his arm tighter around my shoulders and kissed my forehead. *Crack!* We both jumped and shot a glance in the direction of the noise. A young man fell from a tree branch above us and behind where I was sitting. His face was adorned with paint and he was wearing an animal skin for clothes. He put me in a headlock and thrust his spear in William's face.
"Why have you kidnapped our Princess?"
"What?" I grabbed the young man's arm and flipped him over my shoulder (a maneuver Will had shown me). And looked at the boy now hanging from the cab of the carriage.
"Anuja? Little Brother!"
He laughed at the scare he had caused as he climbed up onto the cab, and the expression on Will's face.
"I recommend you don't try that again." Will threatened.
My little brother and I laughed, as Anuja sat in between Will and I.
William
I knew she was uncomfortable with the current turn of events but I couldn't let her suffer from torture at the hands of this man any longer.
We had already snuck inside the fortress, having ambushed a patrol and taken uniforms, and made our way to the dungeon. The only problem now was figuring out which one she was in. I heard a woman's screams from the end of the area and walked that way. The guards in the area did not suspect anything from us.
I saw her up ahead, she was chained to the wall and was bleeding from some cuts until they cauterized them, Bonita looked away but I felt the anger boiling up inside me like none I'd felt before.
One of the guards at the door smirked when he saw Bonita's reaction, "First time patrolling the dungeon? Don't worry you'll get used to it."
I walked inside and looked around, no guards in the room itself just the two by the door. I walked back over to him and spoke, "We were actually sent to relieve you."
The two looked a little shocked, "Really?"
I nodded and the same one spoke, "Well it's about time. You two are an hour or more late." He pointed to a candle used to track time. "Come on Ben let's get out of here."
The guards left and only the torturer remained, after they were sufficiently far away I approached him. He turned and looked at me, "What the matter with you?"
I held my tongue but just stared at him and he grinned, "Oh I know, you are jealous I'm getting all the fun. Well go ahead then."
I pushed him against the wall and picked him up by the neck, "Actually I was wondering how to kill you slowly enough to make you pay for your crimes, but I really don't have time for that."
I crushed his neck with my hand and dropped him to the floor. Cordell was blindfolded and hadn't heard my words or her torturer's death. I grabbed the keys and let her down but didn't unchain her as yet. I urged her forward and she acted confused but obeyed. Bonita followed behind me and we made our way out into the courtyard.
I paused, the gates were open and it would take a minute to close at least. I leaned close to Cordell and whispered, "It's me Cordell don't be afraid." She nearly jumped in her skin as I picked her carefully up and bolted for the gates, Bonita was right behind me.
I had to dive to make it under in time. Bonita made it out with time to spare because she hadn't been carrying anyone. I quickly unchained Cordell the the three of us made a run for the treeline. I knew they'd be firing arrows at us, I could even feel them leaving the bows, but I didn't expect what happened.
We reached the trees as expected and took cover as the arrows began to fall all around us. I moved around the tree and looked for pursuers but I saw someone a few yards ahead of me with a crossbow pointed straight at me.
I froze, for the first time in my life I didn't react fast enough. I heard my name being screamed through the time that had seemed to slow down and a figure appeared between me and the crossbow bolt that had been fired. The bolt hit her in the stomach and she fell to her knees. Bonita came out from behind a tree near the man and slammed a tree branch into his head, knocking him cold and probably giving him a concussion.
I dropped to my knees behind her and caught her in my arms.
"Why did you do that Cordell?" I was in tears. "Why did you take that bolt for me?"
She gently placed a hand on my face, "Because you are my reason to live. Without you I would have had no reason and I don't want to live with the memories I now have. You, my William, need to live on and be a light in the darkness of this world."
I continued to cry as she closed her eyes and smiled, "I feel at peace now in your arms, more at peace than I had ever been. Even now as I die from the poison on that arrow I can feel peace because of who you are William Thrisfalen. You are my king and my leader." She paused and cringed in pain and I shook my head.
"Don't give up Cordell," Tears streamed down my face. "Fight it."
She smiled again at me, "You are my only love in the whole world. Don't let my sacrifice be in vain." She closed her eyes and I could feel her fade and I screamed in anguish. I heard a footstep behind me and I jumped behind the tree and swung around landing a kick into the torso.
The man fell to the ground and lost his grip on the weapon. I picked it up and shot his unconscious friend. The one I knocked down began to tremble and I just glared at him.
"Let Bartholomew know who his enemy is," I replied. "Let him know William Thrisfalen is still alive and is going to find the cache of weapons first and use them to kill him and his army."
I picked up the would-be assassin and threw him in the direction of the castle.
No more hiding my identity. If the seekers want revenge for their fallen comrade, let them come.
Tears were still streaming down my face as we left her body, we didn't have time to bury her, they'd be hear shortly. Bonita didn't speak for a long time but as we were settling down for bed she wrapped her arms around me and made me put my head on her shoulder and continue to cry.
"We'll make it through this," She whispered softly in my ear and I realized I had been selfish and I wrapped my arms back around her and picked up my head.
"We'll both miss her, but I think I'd rather her dead than in Bartholomew's dungeon."
She didn't comment on that, but I knew she agreed.
"Tomorrow we'll continue on the road."
We spent the rest of the night, until we fell asleep, comforting each other about our friend's death.
Bartholomew
He turned back to her, "Tell me what I wish to know and I'll set you free."
He walked over and lifted her chin, "Be reasonable Cordell. Yes I know your name and I knew your mother. She was a remarkably skilled warrior and nearly joined my cause." She didn't let her face portrait the interest in her heart. He stepped back and began to pace, "Seeing as I'm a forgiving person, you can take the place I offered her so long ago, but I know you won't take it."
She dropped her head again her spirit was almost destroyed and Bartholomew knew it, "If you won't tell me than you will die in this place."
She stood up and looked defiantly at him, this was the first time she had reacted in such a way and she spoke, "He's going to come for me and he's going to kill you. One way or another."
Bartholomew hesitated for a moment, she shouldn't have been able to stand much less stand with the chains weighing her down. He shook it off, "Take her back down and continue where you left off."
She lunged at him but the chained reached their limit and she fell into the ground inches from him. He leaned down and whispered, "You will never see your beloved rescuer." He stood and spoke to the guard, "Take her eyes first, then go back to where you were."
He looked back out the window at the distant view and smiled, Westport you will help me immensely and be the downfall of this world. It is a shame you have to burn.

Kielrannym
The shorter seeker turned to his companion. “I do not wish to challenge the wisdom of our Prophetess or her divine insights, but I would guess the girl; She being in superior physical condition.” They stood studying silently for several minutes and then the smaller seeker continued. “…Then again, there are many more physically superior individuals in this city that would be a better candidate than this one; if she is judging by physique.
“I agree, but notice how the center of her conversations have been directed toward the one they are placing into that wheeled contraption.” The shorter seeker nodded in agreement and the taller one continued. “I wonder if this is the prophetess’… ‘Best Friend’. They looked down at the strangeness of the phrase.
The shorter seeker broke the awkward silence. “Very peculiar vocabulary, this new prophetess has. It varies very much from our past Lords’ very much.”
The taller one nodded in agreement and turned toward the shorter. “I need your understanding, not your judgment on what I have to say.”
The shorter one turned toward the taller. “What is it?”
The taller seeker collected his thoughts. “Do you ever ponder the wisdom of our late prophet in selecting this young girl to lead our mighty crusade.”
The shorter one tensed up. “Where we stray now is heresy, but… yes, I ponder it very much.”
“And what of her decisions thus far? She had us collect the Legend personally, ultimately losing one of our own in the process. And not just one of the eight Kielrannym, but our king.” The taller paused and looked back at the ground. “What if she really did select the young girl or the broken young man to lead us? Can you…”
The shorter seeker tore a sword out from under his old tattered cloak and pressed it against the taller seeker’s chest. “Now you venture too far. I will serve whoever the prophetess chooses and so will you.” They glared at each other for several moments and then the shorter put away his sword. “Our techniques are only as powerful as our loyalty. I pray that you will remember that… Our King died as a result of our failed loyalty. Do not blame the failure on our prophetess or we will soon be short another Kielrannym.”
The tenseness shattered as a third seeker emerged behind them. He quickly approached the two in a panicked manner. “The prophetess must leave West Port, NOW!” He stopped a few feet from them. “Where is the prophetess?”
The shorter seeker turned toward the window and pointed. “She is in…” The group in the hotel room was no longer there.
The third seeker drew his sword. “We must find her. I followed the two the prophetess had slept and eaten as I was instructed, but as I was following I noticed a large concentration of smoke behind a large foothill. I came to discover a huge encampment of Bartholomew’s troops along with several… siege fortresses.
“That makes sense…” A fourth seeker appeared beside them. “Lord Lar is hosting a huge party tonight. Several world leaders along with many renown military commanders will be there. I could see Bartholomew easily being able to destroy them all in one attack, thereby crippling several smaller bordering countries.”
“So Bartholomew is finally making a major move?” the shorter seeker questioned. "Then we must quickly find the prophetess."
(Is that OK with everybody?)
Carigin the magnificient! returns?
After some talking and some laughs, Randy remembered “-Tamitha, where’s your uncle's family?”
Tamitha, looking down, tried not to make eye contact, “I went looking for you.”
A sad pity came across Randolph’s face. “You know that I told you to stay still, I’d be here when you hear two explosions over mountainns. Don’t give me that face you know I care about you; I just don’t want you to get hurt. Now come here.” Randy gave Tam a light hug. “Your family cares about you, girl.” Looking deep into her eyes “promise me you won’t do anything crazy.”
Mumbling “ok” Tamitha reluctantly agreed.
Tickling her in the sides Randy laughed “this calls for Ice-cream!”
Amongst the jubilations Mira reluctantly gave the sound of reality. “We-we don’t have any money.”
Randy with an even bigger grin. “Oh that's no trouble at all. Tamitha grab a broom two blankets and a pillow case.” Trying to sit up further, failing and suppressing a groan. “Get me a wheelchair.”
After a few moments of finding the materials, all but the wheelchair, Randy gave a look to Amber like, ha-ha she’s a better finder then you.
“Alright Mira, you’re good at ad libbing, coming up with cover stories and hand puppets right” he was hoping the last one more than anything. Signaling to Tamitha, she swooped some blankets around Mira and a floppy hat. “You’re going to be our new, Carigin the magnificient!”
Tamitha handing Mira a bristly mustache.
Mira “Your going to make me what?”

Mira
"Just that...that...they don't want me around! They think I'm a pest! They ditched me so they could go make out somewhere!"
"That's terrible! You're coming with me! We don't need them. Besides, I know someone who needs some cheering." I quickly grabbed some fresh bread and whatever else I could buy with little money.
--back to the hotel--
"Randy, I brought someone. . ." the little girl's eyes lit up and she ran into the room before I could finish.
She jumped on the bed and started yelling, "Randy! Randy, it's you!!"
I grabbed her arm and pulled her off the bed, as poor Randy cringed in pain, "He'd got a broken leg and some broken ribs. Jumping is not good for him right now. Sit in this chair while I get the food ready for him. Do you want anything to eat?"
"nope, I'm good thanks. That's the one thing they did before ditching me."
Randy raised an eyebrow, he didn't know what had just happened or how Tamitha came to be in Mira's company, but he was relieved, "who?" was all he could muster.
"Will and Bonnie, they ditched her so they could be alone! Disgusting!" Mira growled from the other side of the room. She then handed him a plate of bread and butter with a little jam, "it's all I could afford at the moment." She carefully helped Randy sit and piled pillows under his head.
"Thank ye kindly!"
The three of us sat together and laughed as Randy and Tamitha swapped tales of their latest adventures.
Will Randy ever rest?
Damien grunted in a confirmative and joined the ranks of the other jerican. His skin still burned for the lust of the hawkeye and his shoulder winced in pain every time he dared moved it but it failed in comparison for his lust of survival and killing the man who did this to him.
“My life was nigh to perfect, everything in place, becoming stronger better then the putrid scum humanity has turned into, lowly presents. Just a few more tests and I would have unlocked another layer in labyrinth of chemicals.” But as the jerican high command now knew of his vigilantly testing had nearly died to their hand not to mention the Jerican killer, Victor just stewed with rage waiting for his moment to strike, and he was going to become the best.
Traveling in unmarked carriages as Victor and the other jerican were brooding about their menial task, Damien thought he saw a flash of familiar red “Ta-“ he didn’t even want to speak her name.
“so your hear” the mutilated jerican grind to himself, alas duty calls but when were set to disappear waiting for more orders “you’ll find me and mercy will be-! ”
“Jerican 1-5-6 help me lift this (sewer) cap”
Now traveling into the depths Victor contemplated which of his comrades he would sacrifice first. Completely forgetting the intense feelings Tamitha had brought on, ever since the “accident” it was hard for Damien to focus on one thing. if he ever did meet the perfection of Leverets son. He had to know the secret behind leveret and if possible improve upon his design.
---Randy
Feeling uncomfortable in staying in one place Randy knew that it was unlikely that he’d be much good out there, in his current condition, but at least he could at least run (if he had to).
It was just hard for Randy, but he knew that all things had their place, a time for healing a time for war. At least randy had his philosophical knowledge that he could roll around in his head.
“Oh I wish Mira would get here, there’s some new information Van Gray will need” though the information was more selfish, Randy wanted wile in this state of angst, to have a friend. Amber was nice and all but Tamitha was a better friend and he was sure would be better on long hauls of healing. No Mira is too much of a- a Agent to stay in a place for too long. Her training would kick in and she’ll probably be gone in a week. Thank goodness Tamitha untrained untainded in the art of war. One of the purest people Randy knew, a friend. Now she could be trusted.
Randy rustled around at the realization that Mira was more agent then person (unaware of the past situation with Shilon, it let Randy’s mind wander) “one order form her superiors and I’m dead… I have too much to live for. Too much to protect,” contemplating his options. “The only way I’ll make it out of this, is if not a threat”

William
"Pardon me sir," A man walked up to us. "Would you like any Tapestian Diamonds for your lovely lady?"
I shook my head and pushed past him, but he was persistent, "The finest way to proclaim your love in the world. Guaranteed to impress even the richest king with your exquisite taste."
"I said no," I pushed past him again but he got in front of me for a third time.
"Come on I know you can't say no to the offer I'll make you," He smirked broadly. "And I know she'll love it."
I was getting mad. "Look, pal," I said as I grabbed his collar and pushed him against a wall. "I'm not interested. Now get lost."
"Suit yourself," He called after us. "But you're missing the deal of a lifetime, you hear, the deal of a lifetime!"
I turned to my startled companions, "Sorry I just hate swindlers and he was probably one of them." Before they could say anything I pointed up ahead, "That looks like a fine place to catch a bite to eat."
We ate and talked, I talked all about my life in Old Thrisfalen but I had a feeling the girl didn't buy it. It didn't matter much either way, what was she going to do when I ditched her?
Bonita stood up, "I've got to use the restroom I'll be right back."
I stood when she did as any gentleman would and then sat down, Tamitha looked at me a little funny, "Why did you do that?"
"It's proper to stand when a woman stands at your table," I looked around and frowned. "Where is that waiter?"
A few minutes later and Bonita had returned and the meal had been paid for. I took Bonita by the hand and smiled, "Well this is where we part ways Tami. It's been nice to meet you. I hope you find that," I paused as if I couldn't think of the name. "Friend," I finally said. "Of yours."
She looked sad and distraught and I just lifted her chin with my finger to look up at me, "Hey, you'll be fine I'm sure he's looking for you too."
I could tell she wanted to protest but I quickly turned and fled with Bonita. She looked at me and smiled once we were a good distance off, "So where are we headed now?"
"I have a few places to stop and see if my family is there and then it's off to, what would then be, the last lead I have that will take us out of this city and into the next kingdom."
She looked thoroughly confused but followed my lead as we ran into several places that seemed to be expecting our visit but to no avail. As we were preparing to leave the city with the horses we had purchased in town I stopped and sighed.
"What's the point of it all anyways?" I said to Bonita.
She looked at me bewildered and completely taken off guard by my actions today and the behavior of the people we hadn't known that acted familiar to us.
She, however, was better at playing along than I could have possibly hoped, "Well we need to find your family to see what kind of people they were and to know what kind of people your parents were, perhaps we could even find portraits of them and now what they looked like."
She wrapped me in a hug and I sat up in her arms and smiled, "You're right of course. We must be off then."
We got on our horses and headed out of the city towards the next town.
(For deanna, Will explains once they are out of the city that they had been being followed and watched all day until they left the city and he had to put on a good show. He also tells her about Cordell being taken prisoner and that he is going to try and break her out. He makes it very clear that he wants to get her out because she saved his life and not because of any feelings he has towards her.)
Tamitha
The man cracked a smile and then gently put his hand on my shoulder, "let go see what we can find." He gave the woman a helpless smile as he led me out of the room. She followed slowly, dragging her feet behind. this won't do, no, not at all! I grabbed the man's hand and then the woman's. I then started to skip, "Oh come on, it's fun! try it!" the man looked a little embarrassed and the woman just shook her head. "Come on! try it! like this!" I started swinging their arms with mine as I skipped down the hall of the hotel.
(keeping things light while filling the post void)
Lord Lar
“Forgive me, my Lord, for the message; but again, we sent a Jerican patrol and found only one surviving alchemist at Dr. Leveret’s facilities. Everyone else seems to have been… well… they’re all dead. That much is for sure.” An old, ugly West Port Guard captain reported. He glanced at the red wine on my table and gave a shutter. “There is more sir.”
I held up my hand to stop him from his next report. I scooped up a cloth form the table and quickly wiped my lips and patted down my beard. I processed the news for a space of time and then threw the cloth to the table. I collected my anger and continued. “Lets start with this first matter, shall we. Did the survivor see anything?”
“Yes, my Lord, She saw everything. We have written her… detailed account on this report. That is if you wish to view it.” The ugly captain held out a leathery script, which I accepted. “We also collected a great deal of alchemy pages from various rooms and studies. Would you like those as well? They appear to be research notes.”
I looked over the survivor’s report and gave a little chuckle. Oh Leveret, you really where a piece of work. When I had finished perusing I answered the captain. “No, take that research and deliver it to the Jerican headquarters. I would like Ole’ Bartholomew to know that I never keep secrets from a friend.”
“Yes Sir.” The captain turned to the young guard next to him and issued the delivery orders. The young lad then ran off.
“Alright Captain, what is the second thing you wished to report?” I sat back in my chair and faced it toward him.
“The description of the monster in the Dark Districts, given by the survivors of the Red Market Street incident, seems to match the description of the creature that wiped out Dr. Leveret’s facilities.” He paused.
“Is that it, Captain?”
“No sir, this morning, three hours after dawn, a small pub collapsed into the sewer networks under the Dark Districts. Everyone, including a small rescue group, has disappeared. There is sufficient evidence that they were all either captured or killed by the monster.” The captain shuttered again when I picked up drank my red wine.
I placed my goblet back on the table. “And how does this correlate with the events at the Alchemy, besides physical descriptions?”
The captain lowered his voice to a whisper, as if he had something important to tell me. “You see my lord, I went diggin’ into the whereabouts of Dr. Leveret’s son. It just so happens that he was apprenticing as an architect.” The captain paused for some sort of effect that came across as very annoying. “So you see, if the monster is Dr. Leveret’s son, as the surviving alchemist lass reported, then perhaps we could be in a bit more danger then we expected.”
I contemplated what he said and arrived at a very painful conclusion. I hate it when these blabbers seem right. I stood from my chair and walked to the guard, placing my hand on his shoulder. “Captain, I would like you to personally lead five patrols of your best men down in the sewer networks. Sweep the entire area, and if that beast comes along then I am sure that you are perfectly capable of killing it.” I patted the captain on the shoulder and walked out of the dining hall. Now that was satisfying.

"Fine, go hungry. But you still have to stay in bed. I'll strap you to it if I have to." I then started to eat my mess of a breakfast, I nearly choked, it was horrible. "You know what, I think I saw a baker's cart just down the road. I'll trust you not to go anywhere. Oh, there's a chamber pot in the corner by the bed if you need it. I know, it's not the luxury you're used to." As I headed out the door, I turned back and threatened him, "don't get up for any other reason, I will know."
I giggled a little as I shut the door. Poor stubborn Randy, maybe that's what I like so much about him.
(if anyone else wants to type about Mira feel free, I just kind of took her over without asking.)
Bonnie
He begrudgingly got up and followed me to the balcony. "We've got to ditch the kid." His response was understandable shock. "I don't trust her, you can't trust kids. No matter who they are, they blab everything to everyone. Especially this one, she is very talkative. Besides, I don't want her blood on my hands, she's not safe with us. Come, before she wakes--" Will grabbed my arm as I started to climb off the balcony. He shook his head and gently pulled me back over the railing. He pulled me close and pulled his fingers through my hair.
Just as he was leaning in to kiss me, we heard the doors crash open behind us. "I'm hungry! Where's my breakfast!" I was growing more agitated by the child every minute.
(yes, always short, but I am leaving openings for people. Anyone can post for Tamy, after all she is not my character.)

pretty please
“Now try not to move too much, I’ve set your leg.” she replied to his fumbling.
He was confused that Amber was there at all, but his mind still not fully up to speed he tried a battered smile but didn’t dare speak yet. Looking at the floor, he noticed the source of the clatter, a small pan with egg dashed about the place.
Mira, foreseeing the question answered. “Evidently medical procedures and combat are a lot easier than making breakfast” turning inward she mumbled to herself “should have just gone for the room service.” And began cleaning up the residue. “But how about you, how’s your-" feeling exasperated over if she really made the right decision, but that was all in the past now. Still distracted she finished, “everything?”
Randy wasn’t even sure this was really happening but chose to react like he would in any other situation. Best to be the person you really are whether in reality or dream because you are you despite reality and your circumstances, Master Moomow you’re a great man. “I’m just” winching in pain, “fine” he lied, but still rusty on his speech and not quite sure how to treat this new ally, he said distracting from his current situation “what’s the situation? Bonita ok? the mai-” stopping his speech knowing that it was unlikely the maid survived.
Trying to break the ice, Mira interrupted, “what can you remember?”
(This thought paragraph all done in Randy’s head in less than ten seconds)
Oh, bother Randy thought to himself he didn’t feel like talking he wanted- oh no, the boat! Gah, I’ll have to get a new ticket. Sitting up slowly, the skin rebelled at the premature bending, unleashing red into some of the bandages, Randy ignored it, new leg, better ribs, that thing was a beast. One thing for sure that I will never do that again, how stupid must I have been to tackle a 9ft monster, must think of the ramifications, but I had to save the mai- no use in thinking about it now just got to do better. Looking into his friend's eyes and holding out his arm.“little bit of help please” she paused what he was doing, so he continued “come along no rest for the weary.”
William
"What?" The little girl, who now seemed far from friendly, said. She lowered her voice, "I don't want him dead I just want to know who he is. The girl seems to be of no import but the surety with which he promised to protect her makes me suspicious of him."
The other snickered, "I know I have cast off my ties with humanity but I was once human. He was probably just trying to reassure her as any man would do for the woman he loves. Unless you have," There was a momentary pause to emphasize, "Other reasons to suspect, my Master."
The girl thought about the words for a moment, "Perhaps you are right. I'd like you to keep an eye on him anyways. Tomorrow they will take me back to my little monk and be on their way and I still want to know more, but I have a feeling this one won't give it up easily."
And now that I know your true colors...I grinned. Whatever that thing was in the shadows was going to die if it tried to hurt Bonita, other than that I think I can arrange for some well placed deception. I could feel the shadow leave and the girl began to breathe as if asleep. I relaxed somewhat and fell into my usual 'lighter than air' sleep.
(A little strange and short for me I know :P)

Mira and Randy
With a warm cloth, I wiped away the blood from his brows and hair. I was surprised he had survived such blows (or at least I hoped). I was a little resentful that he called me " pint" but his eyes told me his mind was somewhere else. I gently kissed his brow, and he began to stir.
"Oh, Randy, please don't leave me. You're all I've got left, though I am sure you won't have me." He was in fact a monk, and I had to respect that. And he didn't trust me, I could see it in his eyes.
His eyes fluttered open for a moment, he looked at me with an odd expression. I could only imagine what he was thinking, since he was too weak to talk.
I stroked his face again, "Peace be unto you, my lord. You are safe here. Close your eyes, you need your rest." His expression softened, and he closed his eyes again. He moved his lips as if to say something, but I couldn't make out any words.
Bonnie and Tamy
"Brr, it's cold in here. Mind if I lay by you, lady?" It was a strange request, but I was too tired to argue. "Mr, you can have my bed." by that time Will was snoring heavily (though, I don't recall him ever snoring before). "You wanna be my new mommy?" she whispered softly and she snuggled closer.
By this time I was very uncomfortable, "we'll talk about it in the morning." I say we wake up early and ditch her. It wasn't long before I fell asleep.
(Tamitha) I think she’s asleep. If only I could get to know them better, though they seem very nice, I am sure they are hiding something. Once the woman started to lightly snore I slid off the bed. “I think you can come out now. They’re sleeping, so you have to keep really quiet.” I said as a dark shadow came out of the corner of the room.
"What is your desire, my master? Shall I kill the man?" he asked.
Will's eyes shot open, as he wasn't actually asleep.

I felt an immense burden leave my heart and run off with the boy. Finally, she is saved, not from physical harms of this life, but a much deeper sort. I thought back on the events of the previous night. It was all so vivid, Mira stumbling toward me with the injured young man, her open rejection of my wishes, and her escape down the tunnel. I couldn’t have wished for anything more from her. The little girl who I trained from childhood, who I thought would grow into a weapon that would forever be a slave to the will of Madness, has become, instead, a defender of the weak and a fighter for the true missions of this life.
You are now dead to the order Mira. This is the only protection I can give you from this point. Written on the note is an altered tale of the events of the previous night. It related how I killed the girl for her defiance and for her inability to execute the will of the Order. I also wrote a recommendation for any records of her existence removed, so that they would not pollute the holy history of our grand crusade.
I hope your new friends bring you peace, Mira.
William
*Days after William, age thirteen, returned to the monastery from being kidnapped and tortured.*
"You have to start this training William my son," Master Moomow said, he commonly called William and Randy, and other young monks that. He appeared to do it more with William but no one noticed.
"Why I just got back from a dungeon. Don't I even get a little break?" I pleaded.
"No," He retorted. "One day you will be needed to disappear and become less than a shadow on the wall and when that day comes you need to be ready."
"How does one become less than a shadow?" I asked, then I laughed at him. "That's not even possible."
"Be less than a shadow by existing in plain sight, where everyone can see you and no one suspects you. Get a normal life, away from everything you knew previously," The answer had been unexpected. Next year would be time to take the oaths and become a true monk, able to enter the inner sanctum of the Order, so what came next was even more strange. "I'm giving you five gold pieces. You must go out and live for a month without help from anyone at the monastery and without breaking any laws and no one must know you are a monk."
*Back to present*
The purpose of that training was to teach me how to live as a normal person if I had to, but that, combined with my recent torture and escape, made me not wish to take the oaths. Master Moomow was downhearted by the event but I had learned a valuable lesson. I can't be a monk if I'm going to hide.
I looked down at the little vagabond and sighed, "Yeah well it wasn't exactly an open invitation. I mean I wasn't offering that to anyone within earshot. Besides you should be home with your family and no one likes an eavesdropper."
Whether she was looking for my friend Randolph or not it didn't matter. If he wasn't to safety by now he would be dead. It was a little creepy that a little girl was out in the woods all alone though.
The little girl sniffled, "Ok, but I don't have a family and he's the only friend I've got."
Bonita looked at me like I was being a little too harsh and I whispered in her ear, "Look I can't go around saving people all day and night. I have knowledge of something far too important to let anyone know who I am Bonnie."
Bonnie climbed down the tree and I followed and spoke to the little girl again, "Look it's really dark right now but, I can get you a place to sleep for the night inside the city but that's all I can do. You can start your search in the morning when it's safer."
We traveled across town to the merchant district and found a nice small inn. We had traveled the long way to avoid the dark district. I smirked at the skinny host standing at the counter half asleep. I strolled up to him and asked, "One room, three beds if you got it."
The man woke from his slumber and his mind began to process the request, a few moments later, "Nope sorry we only got rooms with one bed or two. Shouldn't be a problem unless you are having troubles with the misses."
He obviously didn't get a good look at her because most people wouldn't assume we were married as she was a tribal person and I was not. Bonita made a look as if to protest but I cut in.
"Well we aren't married yet but hopefully that will change," I grinned and knew I'd either she'd be happy or very, very angry.
"Ten gold for a night," The man leaned over and saw Tamitha, "She's a pretty little thing ain't she?"
"Yes well, she was looking for a place to stay for the night," I chuckled as I handed him the amount for the room.
He handed me the key, "Room one oh six. You have the room till noon or I'll charge you for tomorrow as well."
"Thank you," I went down the hall with my two companions and opened the door and let them in first.
"You two each get your own bed," I sighed. "I'll sleep on the floor."
"So is she your girlfriend?" Tamitha asked.
I nodded, "I'd like to think so."
I took one of the spare blankets and got underneath it on the floor and prepared to sleep.
She asked another question, "So where are you two from?"
"I'm from the old Thrisfalen kingdom," I said. "I met my beautiful friend Bonita while I was traveling and I kind of fell for her."
"Why are you traveling?" The obvious question was asked.
"I'm an orphan but I'd heard some of my cousins might be living in Westport."
"What are you going to do now?"
Does this kid ever shut up? "Look Tamitha, I'm really tired and would like to get some sleep," I said it much nicer than I intended to. "If you want to talk to Bonnie that's fine if she doesn't mind and if you keep your voices low."
(Ok for clarification this is not the same inn Randy had been at. LOL I figured if Tamitha is who she is from the last post, assuming it's the same Tamitha. She would ask this complete stranger a lot of personal questions trying to figure out who he is.)
