I woke up the next morning. Randy was asleep a few feet away. The sun hadn't risen yet and wouldn't for a few hours. I didn't sleep much, I never had.
It took me a few hours to 'secure' breakfast and the tools to build a fire and the most important part, wood that wouldn't smoke. The sun was still done.
I made a small fire a short distance away, where you could clearly see me from either tunnel but where the tunnels were still hidden and I got to work cooking up breakfast. The smell from the breakfast began to permeate through the trees and it would be only a matter of time before the girl would awaken and smell the wonderful food just outside her home. He hoped she'd come investigate.
Please visit the sister site to light in the darkness and post your character's background and information there before posting on the story. You may also post descriptions of weapons (land dragons, etc) or places there. Your background doesn't have to be as lengthy as Snim's.
