Bonita

I was just about to have another piece of meat (seeing as Will and Randy were preoccupied at the moment) when I heard Randy thundering through the trees. He was not alone. I was surprised when he asked my help rather then admonishing me for stealing their food after swearing I wouldn't. I obediently grabbed the medallion he tossed to me and ran into the woods. I stopped for a moment, and hid behind a tree to watch what he would do next. When he told the other girl to run, I got an idea. As fate would have it, she ran right past me. I quickly grabbed her and pressed my hand tightly over her mouth. I had to act quickly before the guards came into the woods for the medallion that Randy and Will had apparently stolen. I dragged the maiden into one of my tunnels and tied her up with some vines. Then I crept outside and covered out tracks, to ensure we wouldn't be discovered. The men were fast approaching, but hadn't seen me. I quickly ducked back into my tunnel and prayed that those monks were smart enough not to lead the army to my hiding place.

Once inside, I lit my small candle. "What do you want with me, savage?!"
I smacked the girl with the back of my hand, "don't ever call me that again, I am asking the questions here."
"I'm sorry, it's just that, I didn't do anything."
"You're safe with me, just don't try anything." holding out the medallion "what is the significance of this?"
"I don't know. My mother gave it to me, and told me whatever I do never surrender it to Bartholomew. Otherwise the world as we know it will be over."
She seemed to be telling the truth. I didn't know much about Bartholomew, but I knew enough to know that he was the reason I was orphaned. I untied her and gave the medallion back to her, "don't put it around your neck where everyone can see it." she nodded and tied it to the inside of her apron. "hungry?" I offered her some of the monk's meat I had managed to escape with.
