Sir Lar

Bright, orange sunbeams pierced the dense, grey clouds overshadowing a small village in the Stormy Mountains. The village was quiet, almost lifeless. A light snow had dusted the village rooftops and blanketed the forest floor the night previous. The village shacks centered around a cold, stone keep that rose overlooking the surrounding forest. Eight wooden towers had been erected around the town, each bearing a slumbering sentry. A cold mist spewed from the trees enveloping the tower bases and some of the outlying shacks. Mild grunting could be heard from some far off animal caught in a snare. The soothing smell of smoke filled the air of the town.

The calm was interrupted by a rooster crowing atop a shanty barn on the western end of town. A loud bell rang out from the upper levels of the keep. The sentries atop the towers awoke and stood at the ready. A group of armed young men emerged from the keep followed by a middle aged man holding two copper discs. Several of the young men went to relieve the sentries from their tower watch, while the remainder escorted the older man while he proceeded to clash the two copper discs together. “WAKE UP LOT, IT’S MORNIN’ TIME!”, he shouted while smashing the disks. “YER’ DEBTS WON’T PAY THEMSELVES!”

Hordes of grizzly men marched out of their shelters adorned in warm, scraggly furs. They fumbled into lines in front of a wooden station, where a young lad was distributing slop. They collected their meals then proceeded to a small gathering area where the brutes exchanged their thoughts and lost ambitions one with another.

The middle aged man stepped on a rickety platform over the congregation. He bashed his copper discs until the group ended their conversations. “Listen up lot… listen ere’. Group one , you boys did good work last week. You got the entire north end of Crimson Peak deforested and group three got it all cleared out. Our lot down at Turmhole Dam received the shipment three days ahead o’ schedule. Sir Lar thought it would be appropriate that such actions be rewarded with special privileges. He thought that there would be nuttin’ wrong with given such a good and productive lot a taste o’ grey wine and maybe even a little seasoned pork.” A brute rose with a resounding cheer followed by cheers from his comrades. The middle aged man continued, “Now, I got other orders for labor group two. Your production in the Black snow mines are two weeks behind schedule. This, lot, is unacceptable.” Many of the men rolled their eyes to solute a very familiar speech. “Sir Lar did not redeem your wretched skins so you can sleep on your picks. You gotta’ work your debts off to him, which is a much better deal then your original situations in prison.”

William

I'd had to run from the fire. I'd been looking for the trail as long as I could but I hadn't had enough time to find it again.

It was dark now and the fire had subsided. I followed the river downstream and found a stone bridge. I crossed and soon found two women travelling through the trees. They looked starved and tired, not to mention irritable.

I recognized them both after a moment and they saw me, but I'm not sure they knew who I was.

"Don't worry," I said. "It's just me Will the monk. There is a bridge this way, but you probably know that and were headed that way already. Anyways, you look hungry, maybe I can help. Come on let's go."

I turned and began walking into the woods.

Bonita

Hour after hour we took turns being the watch-out until it got dark.
"I'm hungry." Cordell complained,"my feet hurt. we've been doing this for hours. Can we come out of hiding yet?"
I thought about it for a minute "yeah, but quietly, we don't want anyone to know about this place." I was getting sick of her complaining.
We slowly climbed out of the hollow tree and looked around. "Wow, they really scorched the place. Where do we go now?"
"Oh man, my home! There is no where to hide now, everything is gone."
"well, at least the fire went out." she said dusting her skirt "so where's the food?"
I rolled my eyes, it was like she didn't realize the magnitude of what had just happened. "Well, unless you have a spear, we are going to eat bark. As you may have noticed there's not a whole lot of live plants around here."
"Ew! I'd rather starve."
"Fine with me!" I grumbled as we wondered away from the tree in the opposite direction of my previous home. why me? I was minding my own business and these people came along and ruined my life!

The Commander

The commander was alone in his tent, he had just heard that they had to stop searching because of a fire that broke out. Only one soldier survived that had run into the monks, they didn't even know how many or if it had been just the one. He would need to question him, but that could wait. King Bartholomew was expecting an update on the search for the key.

He decided to leave out the part about finding it in the first place and just tell him they had only found bloodshed at the spot where it was supposed to be found. The king would be very angry, hopefully he would find a way to vent it besides on the commander.

William

I held my breath for a moment as the torch fell into the hole but I didn't hear any screams or see anyone come rushing forth. I looked around at the ground and found a trail. One pair of feet heading off in a direction, zigzagging quite a bit but still barely perceptible.

I was following the trail when some more soldiers found me.

"It's him," One of them whispered. "The demon soldier."

I stood up straighter, trying to avoid a fight but then I noticed the trail ended abruptly and I couldn't have them bringing people back here.

I dropped the staff and burst into motion. I leaped into the air and came crashing down on top of the first soldier. They were taken completely offguard. There were seven more and they hadn't even drawn their weapons.

I roundhouse kicked another and heard a crunch as it connected. My fist caught another in the throat and he couldn't breathe. The rest had managed to draw their swords.

I began to dodge as two of them advanced and I tripped one with my leg and came down into his chest hard with my elbow and I felt the damage. The other one tried to take advantage of my being on the ground and he swung down. I rolled onto my back and caught the sword with my feet, pulled it from his grasp, and slammed it deep into his chest.

The three remaining charged as I jumped to my feet and finished them off with ease. However, my wound had begun to bleed again. I walked over to the cover of a tree and tore off my other sleeve and, combined with the first sleeve, used it to stop the bleeding. I rested there for a little bit to catch my breath and let my arm get a break.

This should be a good time. I could smell the smoke from a fire and they'll have to go around it or wait for it to burn through, but I couldn't rest here for long, the fire would be here soon.

Randy

Randy noticing that the girl was gone. “Well so much for the bait.”
Randy had already disemboweled a few men and mainly was attacking from the trees. The fire had begun to take flight heading east parallel of Bartholomew men. “if only it would turn” splatter “ it would send them off our sent-at least for a little bit.”

Swinging his spear around he was able to disable two more men. Fighting with the cover of the forest was no fair to the thugs as Randolph was in his element, taking them out one by one.
Looking around Randy noticed a few men getting closer to the tunnels “Darn tunnels.” Randy hated claustrophobia. He was even surprised he could sleep last night.

“Alright that’s it” grabbing a fallen bow, Randy shot one man once and the second three times; causing him to drop a torch. “That shouldn’t be so bad, just as long as the tribal girl ran off. Hope she’s not planning to go back home though. Now to check and see if Wills ok then the milk maid.”
Running off full speed to the tree horizon (this giving the added benefit of distracting the barbarians form the entry ways), nearly there a barrage of arrows flew. Obviously they were running short on men. Randy could see men in the distance running back going to tell the others.
“Oooff” Randy whimpered as four arrows got him in the back. Luckily with his thick robes blocked three rather well with the fourth a little more painful.
Dropping to one knee, Randy heard “Rally around him before his satanic brother comes.” Turning around Randy could see the men emerging from their hiding place. “Only bows?” said Randy as he swung around the fox trap getting one man in the face. Then throwing his spear got the second and the second ran. Exzosted dropping to his second knee Randy knew his mobility was down now “it’s amazing how losing a little blood will do that to yah.” He wouldn’t be able to dodge his way out of this one.

Looking around Randy saw a dead soldier, then got an idea.

Crooks saw his men scattered and an injured archer hobble his way out of the smoking forest. “What happened in there soldier ” “they-it was everywair sir. He showed no mercy.” Frustrated Crooks kicked the man in the chest. “fool you know what just-Gah! Go to the medic in town.” The fear of the ranks of Bartholomew echoed in his bones and the known repercussions. The town was about to get rung tighter and the cruelty strained. This was all he could do to protect his city and his men form the maddening demands of Bartholomew, at least now he would be able to cancel the assault do to the fire.

Maiden

"We shouldn't stay here very long. They are bound to find this tunnel." I suggested to the girl. "My name is Cordell by the way."

The girl looked around "Bonnie. You're right. Those monks are bound to return here to seek refuge and might be followed. There is a secret hideout in these woods that no one will ever expect. My chief told me about it, it's actually not far from here. He said it is only for emergencies, you see this is my home." Come on, let's sneak out of here."

She crept slowly to the entrance and peeked out, seeing no one she beckoned me to come. We were about to leave when we saw Randy run past, two soldiers quick on his heels.
"Good job Randy! Keep them occupied" I cheered under my breath.
"Come on, before he runs back this direction."

We ran from tree to tree, hiding as we went so not to be spotted by the soldiers. Then after what seemed like a mile we stopped. Bonnie pressed her ear to a large oak and knocked three times. It was hollow! She moved some of the bark aside, revealing a hole inside. "I know it will be a little uncomfortable standing so close, but this is our only hope." The door swung shut and Bonnie bent over and latched it closed on the bottom. I noticed two small holes where the light came in "we can each watch through one hole." I suggested.
"There are some on the other side as well." she pointed out. The holes were small enough to see through, but too small to be seen from the outside. it was the perfect hideout, those natives were smart. No one would ever look for us here.

I watched through my side of the tree as the woods started to burn where we had been. Another distraction, I assumed. Luckily we were on the other side of a ravine and the fire would likely not affect our hiding spot.

William

"Bring him if he surrenders," The commander announced. "Otherwise kill him." The commander continued with eight soldiers into the woods to help the search.

I hoped Randy got rid of the necklace even if he decided to fight. I saw more soldiers emerge from across the field, these ones on foot. This key must be important.

"Come on boy," One of the soldiers said. "Ten to one is poor odds."

"Yes I know," I smirked. "It's actually fifteen to one and I'll give you all one chance to surrrender."

They broke out in laughter and began dismounting. Fighting a single man on horseback with fifteen people was near impossible and they knew I could beat them if they charged me on horseback anyways.

They drew their swords and we began to fight. I only parried for a minutes, gauging the enemies strength and I was not impressed.

The first contenders stepped back and the next group stepped forward and they were much better.

If this keeps up my staff... My thoughts trailed off as the breeze caught my arm from behind. That was a little close.

I blocked a particularly powerful blow and my staff cracked.

"Oh now you've done it," I said angrily. I pulled up on the wood and it slid easily free, I did the same on the bottom piece. It left a solid metal staff that had been hidden underneath.

Their swords were no match for the metal staff as I began to counterattack and bone began to break. The cavalry soldiers had almost all been disabled when I felt a sharp pain in my right shoulder.

I dropped the staff since I could no longer hold it with the wound on my arm. One man was still standing from the cavalry and the infantry was getting close.

"You're good," He said to me. "But now you are unarmed and wounded. Don't make me kill you."

"Funny," I replied. "I was about to say the same thing."

My motion must have seemed almost a blur for the weary soldier. I dove underneath his attack and struck the back of his head with the full force of my leg and he flew a few feet forward and didn't move.

I didn't have time to stop I quickly grabbed my staff with my left arm and headed into the forest to disappear.

A few minutes later I had lost pursuit and stopped to bandage the wound on my arm. I was lucky, it was only superficial and I tore my right sleeve to use as a bandage. I'd do more later, for now I had to make sure everyone else was okay.

I headed back to her burrow and saw two men poking around the area, stealthily. I knew they'd find the burrow in a moment and they did.

One of them lit a torch and said into the tunnel, "If you don't come out we'll throw the torch in and burn you out."

I waited, I couldn't just run in there in case there were more in the area. I was still wounded and I was tired. I needed to rest.

Bonita

I was just about to have another piece of meat (seeing as Will and Randy were preoccupied at the moment) when I heard Randy thundering through the trees. He was not alone. I was surprised when he asked my help rather then admonishing me for stealing their food after swearing I wouldn't. I obediently grabbed the medallion he tossed to me and ran into the woods. I stopped for a moment, and hid behind a tree to watch what he would do next. When he told the other girl to run, I got an idea. As fate would have it, she ran right past me. I quickly grabbed her and pressed my hand tightly over her mouth. I had to act quickly before the guards came into the woods for the medallion that Randy and Will had apparently stolen. I dragged the maiden into one of my tunnels and tied her up with some vines. Then I crept outside and covered out tracks, to ensure we wouldn't be discovered. The men were fast approaching, but hadn't seen me. I quickly ducked back into my tunnel and prayed that those monks were smart enough not to lead the army to my hiding place.

Once inside, I lit my small candle. "What do you want with me, savage?!"
I smacked the girl with the back of my hand, "don't ever call me that again, I am asking the questions here."
"I'm sorry, it's just that, I didn't do anything."
"You're safe with me, just don't try anything." holding out the medallion "what is the significance of this?"
"I don't know. My mother gave it to me, and told me whatever I do never surrender it to Bartholomew. Otherwise the world as we know it will be over."
She seemed to be telling the truth. I didn't know much about Bartholomew, but I knew enough to know that he was the reason I was orphaned. I untied her and gave the medallion back to her, "don't put it around your neck where everyone can see it." she nodded and tied it to the inside of her apron. "hungry?" I offered her some of the monk's meat I had managed to escape with.

Cordell

"Get her into the woods, Randy," William said. "I'll hold as many here as I can."
“right-o” replied Randy as he began to sprint, then having to slow down because of the maid. Looking back he saw some knights draw their swords.

“Got no time for this.” Randy yapped before he threw the maid over his shoulder.
"Get that key at all costs," The mean commander shouted. "Kill any who stand in our way."
Starting to dart between the trees, Randy was thinking of his next move."Ride around him if you have to-" Yelled the angry commander.
“He-he, Will’s doing his job, but what to do next.”
“-just get that key.” Randy: “Key?” looking over upon the maiden “that? Meh, what ever.” Ripping off the medallion looking object, Randy soon saw Bonnie snitching some more cooked meet.

Throwing the medallion to her, Randy yelled “RUN!” then kicked over the fire as Bonnie ran off into the wilderness. “Hopefully that will be a good enough distraction.” Randy thought to himself.
Randy could hear the whiz of arrows in the air. Bolting behind a tree Randy also heard a whimper as the maiden had been shot (in the shoulder). “Oh you big baby- that’s not even deadly.” Setting her down (more accurately letting her loose as she had been fighting him the whole time on his back).

“Now the retort.” Randy thought as the maiden began to yell obscenities and "you Idiot!" And yammering on about the key. “do you even know who that heathen was you tossed it too.”

Randy: “No”
Maid: “then how can you be sure its in safe hands!”
Randy: “Shhh!- the enemy of my enemy is my friend.”
Maid: “that’s your argument! Great were going to die a horrible death to Bartholomew's men.”
Randy: “Bartholomew?”
Maid: “Yes! Haven’t you noticed!-” silencing further objections with a motion of his hands. Randolph pushed her out from behind the tree and said “run!” of course implying he would take care of the rest. But not directly telling her.

Randolph: “Phase two.”

William

(Sorry I'm going to do some goodmoding :( but it is a must you'll see I'll try and keep it down to a minimum)

"Actually," replied the young girl. "There are some odd..." She stopped as a group of at least fifty horses rode up.

"Hello miss," said the commander. He turned to Randy and I for a moment, "Hello boys." He turned back to the maid and continued, "We understand you have something that doesn't belong to you."

The milk maid looked puzzled, "What do you mean?"

"That locket you carry around," He continued. "It doesn't belong to you."

"It was a gift," She lied. "From my mother."

"I'm going to take it back and return it to the owner," He said calmly. He turned to us again, "Please don't interfere, she's a thief and stole it from my master."

The maid turned to Randy and I, "It isn't true but just go. They will only hurt you if you try to help."

"Randy?" I asked. "What's the first rule Master Moomow gave us?"

We shouted in unison, "Protect the innocent."

I added under my breath, "Even if it costs you your life."

The soldiers did not seemed worried by the threat of the two little monks in front of them. I was not afraid for myself, but for the maiden.

"Get her into the woods Randy," I said. "I'll hold as many here as I can."

I loosed my robe and let it fall to the ground leaving only a white shirt and blue pants to be seen. Randy and the maid ran into the forest attempting to hide.

"Get that key at all costs," The commander shouted. "Kill any who stand in our way."

I smirked as two of them began to charge and I did also. I used my staff to vault over the horse and then hit each of them once knocking them from the horses and leaving them unconscious.

The commander seemed a little shocked but he was determined, "Ride around him if you have to just get that key."

Most of them rode around me and the rest surrounded me to prevent me from going after them.
I paused for a moment to come up with a plan.

Nothing to do with the game just hilariously funny

HELL EXPLAINED BY A CHEMISTRY STUDENT

The following is an actual question given on a University of Washington chemistry mid term. The answer by one student was so 'profound', that the professor shared it with his colleagues via the Internet, which is, of course, why we now have thepleasure of enjoying it as well:

Bonus Question: Is Hell exothermic (gives off heat) or endothermic (absorbs heat)?

Most of the students wrote proofs of their beliefs using Boyle's Law (gas cools when it expands and heats when it is compressed) or some variant.

One student, however, wrote the following:

First, we need to know how the mass of Hell is changing in time. So we need to know the rate at which souls are moving into Hell and the rate at which they are leaving I think that we can safely assume that once a soul gets to Hell, it will not leave.

Therefore, no souls are leaving. As for how many souls are entering Hell, let's look at the different religions that exist in the world today. Most of these religions state that if you are not a member of their relig ion, you will go to Hell. Since there is more than one of these religions and since people do not belong to more than one religion, we can project that all souls go to Hell.

With birth and death rates as they are, we can expect the number of souls in Hell to increase exponentially. Now, we look at the rate of change of the volume in Hell because Boyle's Law states that in order for the temperature and pressure in Hell to stay the same, the volume of Hell has to expand proportionately as souls are added.

This gives two possibilities:

1. If Hell is expanding at a slower rate than the rate at which souls enter Hell, then the temperature and pressure in Hell will increase until all Hell breaks loose.

2. If Hell is expanding at a rate faster than the increase of souls in Hell, then the temperature and pressure will drop until Hell freezes over.

So which is it? If we accept the postulate given to me by Teresa during my Freshman year that, 'It will be a cold day in Hell before I sleep with you,' and take into account the fact that I slept with her last night, then number two must be true, and thus I am sure that Hell is exothermic and has already frozen over.

The corollary of this theory is that since Hell has frozen over, it follows that it is not accepting any more souls and is therefore, extinct......leaving only Heaven, thereby proving the existence of a divine being which explains why, last night, Teresa kept shouting 'Oh my God.'

THIS STUDENT RECEIVED AN A+.

(sorry i couldn't help it I seriously laughed for like five minutes)

Wills course of actions infuriated rage in poor little Randy. “Will you know I’m smarter then to be blatant about weir were going and weir we came from.” Wills intent obviously showing. “Plus we probably scared her half to death. two guys popping out of no weir. hippy.”
Suppressing some sentences and seeing milk maid overwhelmed, Randy relented. “thanks again mam.” Still fuming Randy paused, then turned “pardon do you know any place that might be hiring for odd jobs? Its is an awful long jaunt to the holly city.”
smerking at Will.

William

I had already disappeared when Randy had disappeared around the the corner. I knew he was looking for people and he was probably going to start asking questions that would be better left unasked, at least for now. If this girl didn't agree to help me I didn't want her home compromised.

I walked out of the woods next to them in time to hear Randy announce, "Pardon miss-"

"Excuse me," I interupted, turning the corner and seing the milk maid. "We are lost and were wondering where the nearest town was."

She looked somewhat concerned and so I added, "I assure you we are just passing through. We are on a pilgrimage from the monastery and I know we don't look the part but we are harmless little monks in training. Right Randy?"

I continued unabated, "So will you help to holy men in search for enlightenment?"

She nodded and pointed in a direction, "Through those woods you'll find a road leading to the town. You can just follow that and be there in no time."

"Thank you," I finished. "Let us depart Randolph. The holy city awaits us far from here."

(Edit* It's open if you want to talk to her about something else but my character might smack you with his staff for it.)

Bonita

"Fools! what part of stay hidden during the day didn't they understand?" I thought to myself as I watched one man prepare food while the other wandered off into the wilderness in the direction of the old barn. "They're likely to get killed if they keep up this kind of behavior. Though, I haven't had meat in months and that smells very inviting." I crept out of my tunnel, checking for any spies. Seeing none, I recovered my entryway and slowly and quietly walked towards the mysterious monk, who didn't act like any of the other monks I had encountered before. Perhaps he was only disguised as a monk.
He turned around slowly, as if he expected me, and held out a handful of meat. I hesitated to take it, so he took a bite himself and offered again.
Not a word was spoken between us as we ate our meat and watched the other monk in the distance. A girl suddenly appeared next to him, "oh no!" I thought "he'll give away our location." I was about to run, but then I looked to his comrade to see what he thought we should do.

Randy hunrgy

“Hmmmm food.” R. thought as the smells flooded the submerged hut. “Will must be up to something.” After doing his morning exercises R. ventured forth from his hole in the ground. “Hmmm, Looks like great stuff Bill” Smack! Now cuddling his wounded hand with a small consolation prize, (a bit of cooked meat.) Randolph smirked and said. “Alright Will I’ll come back when its all done.”

A little further away. “I wonted to really to check out that village anyway.”
Meandering away from camp he saw a clearing weir crops had been laid and a barn. ‘A little raggedy but diffidently still in use’. Randolph determined “should be a good place to do some side jobs.” He worked his way closer trying not to be seen. Turning a corner R. Saw a milk maid cleaning up the last stall. “Pardon miss-

William

I woke up the next morning. Randy was asleep a few feet away. The sun hadn't risen yet and wouldn't for a few hours. I didn't sleep much, I never had.

It took me a few hours to 'secure' breakfast and the tools to build a fire and the most important part, wood that wouldn't smoke. The sun was still done.

I made a small fire a short distance away, where you could clearly see me from either tunnel but where the tunnels were still hidden and I got to work cooking up breakfast. The smell from the breakfast began to permeate through the trees and it would be only a matter of time before the girl would awaken and smell the wonderful food just outside her home. He hoped she'd come investigate.

Luke

Wow she thoroughly rebuked us, Dang but she was the one that-never mind. She’s obviously had some problems. Mumbling “Her land. Palace he-he its not even lavish just a secure brick building. A safe haven from the world.” Randolph suddenly realized that the world out hear wasn’t the moralistic metropolis of monk city. Though still naively aware he knew something had to be done.
"Nice girl." He heard is comrade prattle. "I think maybe she can help us find this guy. Perhaps we could even pay her, in food."
Looking at the loaf. “I think there’s something greater we hadn’t foreseen hear Will-” now leaning into the entry way of the second submerged hut. “I-” Bill climbed inside the burrow and found a nice spot. “We’ll talk about it in the morning I suppose…” nestling in himself; Randolph covered up the hatchway.
Just before the brink of sleep “lets head into town in the morning, their should be some good Intel on this Bartholomew character, might be connected with the guy with our deed.” Blissful unconsciousness.

William

I covered her entrance back up and grabbed my stuff that Randy had. I found the other burrow and snickered sarcastically, "Nice girl."

"Hey Randy?" I said not really paying attention to what he was doing. "I think maybe she can help us find this guy. Perhaps we could even pay her, in food." I climbed inside the burrow and found a nice spot in the dark and waited.

Bonita

I raised an eyebrow as my captor fell to his knees and cried, then got up as if nothing happened. "what do you have to say for yourself" I heard from behind me. I whipped around quickly knocking the staff and spear out from under the man, catching him off guard and nearly knocking him off balance. "I have nothing to to say to you. Your people took what is rightfully mine and built a palace there. That land was my inheritance. (turning to Will)What right do you have to come into my home in the middle of the night? I don't barge in on your when you're trying to sleep. Now, if you'll excuse me I am going back to bed and I would appreciate it if you cover my hiding spot with these branches and forget you ever found me. I will not steal from you again." I reached into my pocket and pulled out the remaining half of the loaf, "I don't want to steal your last meal, you may need it to keep strength is if Bartholomew and his men spot you. You'd be wise to travel at night. There is another burrow a few yards south, you may seek refuge there." I started to turn but noticed the men weren't moving. "Look, you can't stay here, and we all need to rest. If you stay in that shabby tent you are begging the wolves to attack you. That's their hunting ground you set camp on. Now go before I use your spear against you." I shooed them away and crawled back into my tunnel, pulling some branches in behind me. I had the sinking feeling that this was not the last I would see of these monks. I heard they were supposed to be gentle folks, but it confused me that they were trying to catch me. I wondered what they were going to do now that they found my hiding spot. I didn't want to move again, it's hard work making a new home.

Randolph and introducitons

Randolph a short distance away from the entrance, he meandered in his impatience, looked over at the resolved conflict. “Now what?” he thought to himself. He was so preoccupied with catching the little rascal that the actual thought what he was going to do never passed his mind. “Master Moomow, would be so mad at the lack of my foresight.”
Leaning on the two preferred weapons of will and himself also juggling a torch in his left hand, R. broke the silence. “What do you have to say for yourself?”

William

This girl is, strange, I thought as a climbed out of the tunnel. Her ways and her beliefs.

I couldn't see Randy immediately, but he was probably nearby.

I turned to the girl as she climbed out of the tunnel, "Please forgive my rudeness in entering your home uninvited and for not introducing myself. My name is William but, you can call my Will if you'd like." I felt something strangely familiar about this girl and it may have showed in my eyes as they tend to sparkle when I daydream.

I had a memory flash before my eyes and I hit my knees and cried out in pain. I pushed the memory aside and stood. I turned back to the girl but I did not know what to say about the matter.

The memory was a flashback of when I got kidnapped when I was a child and tortured. I never talk about it, not even to Randolph, and sometimes it comes flooding back, particularly at night which is when I was kidnapped.

Bonita

I watched his eyes intently as he rambled on about punishing me. I was mesmerized, I had never seen anyone with blue eyes before. ". . .that was his last meal. . ." I suddenly realized he no long had a hold of my wrists, but my hands were still in the air. It was obvious that neither of us knew what to expect from the other. I figured he was harmless, otherwise he would have snapped my wrists and slit my throat. All I could do was nod. I followed him through the tunnel slowly, studying his every move. I didn't fully trust him, but I was curious about him. As we reached the end of the tunnel the moonlight blinded me. "full moon" I whispered under my breath. "nothing bad can happen under a full moon" my chief had always told me as a child when I got frightened in the dark.

William

"Take that you scoundrel!" He heard a scream from a barely visible assailant. His training kicked in instantly and he caught the dirtfilled hands and held them tightly. William was quite surprised that she didn't struggle. He smiled gently at her and continued to hold her hands.

"You took some of our bread and as punis," Will stopped short as he glanced around the makeshift home. "No that won't do at all. I'm going to trust you with something. Are you ready?"

He didn't wait for her response before he continued, "Good." He slowly released her hands, "I think you took the bread out of desparation and not as an act of true evil. Master Moomow taught me very well in judging character, but I still could be wrong. What do you say? Will you come out and apologize to Randolph? It was his last meal until we get more, which could be a few days. We won't be going home for months at the soon..." He trailed off and watch her carefully but still didn't drop his guard ready to react in an instant.

Bonita

She suddenly heard the men again. This time they were much quieter, as if they wanted to sneak up on her. "like they can sneak up on me! that's funny."
"hello?" she heard faintly whispered as one of the men clamored down her tunnel.
"trespassing, eh?" she mumbled to herself "let's see how he likes a face full of dirt!"
leaving the candle on the opposite side of the room, she quickly crept across the room and waited on the side of the tunnel opening. It was dark enough that the approaching stranger would not have been able to see her, maybe a few shadows here and there but nothing solid. "wait for it, wait for it" she thought. Then she saw it, a big mass of black hair. She pulled some dirt from the walls and went at the dark figure with both hands "take that you scoundrel!" To her surprise, the man grabbed her wrists and held them very tightly. The dirt slowly sifted through her fingers as she stared the man in the face. She was too stunned to move. No one had ever caught her before.
(I would write more, but I don't want to speak for your character)

timeings a little off but it'll do

“Wow she’s fast” Randy thought to himself as he ran. Smack! “Darn branches- it’s almost as if she’s deliberately doing that.” The next branch swung, clawed his brown leather cloak and snagged it. “I guess monk-ish honor code does not apply out hear.” Randolph slowed down a bit, so that the barrage of braches would cease. “Come back hear you Whelp!” or at least that’s what he meant to say then a mechanical -nch! Cut off his sentence. Randy caught his foot in an old fox trap. Nothing deadly just hinched his way a bit. Now in a hobbling run, still with an unearthed fox trap on his left foot and chain following behind.Looking around with sweat on his face, Randolph was pretty sure that he had lost his pray. A town in the distance and an egged pathway behind Randolph sat in the snow and sighed. “Well, better head back to base camp.” As he began to tug at the metal contraption on his foot. Thick blond hair ‘n’ rosy cheeks from the run with moon light streaming in from over the thick trees. His cloak, with intricate designs near the hems, protecting him from the dry cold and thick boots. Was quite a tranquil little seen and R. would have liked to stay.Meandering back he saw nothing. The fire was dying and the camp in shambles. Randolph gathered his things (and Bills) and was just about to head into a rickshaw of a tent when."I found her," William announced. "Let's go." Will guided them quickly to the entrance of the cave (?) just about 15 feet from the fox trap. Torch in hand along with all their supplies, R. smiled “Want to say hello?”

William

William pulled the branches back and whispered to Randy, "Stay here. It doesn't look big enough for both of us." Will smirked and teased, "Besides, we both know you don't like small spaces."

Will clammered into the hole and made his way into the small cave.

"Hello?" He said softly. Loud enough to hear if someone were awake to listen but not loud enough to wake anyone.

questions and clarification.

snow? bills? I guess we should have established a few things first. we could say it is late autumn. what did you mean by bills Luke? if we are in medieval times the currency would be coins. also, do we write for other characters or just ourselves? would you prefer we "comment" or write new posts? what if we call the tyrant Bartholomew? lol. this post can be used with comments to clarify as we go. just make sure to check it (or make a note in your post to check here) because eventually it will not be on the main page. character pictures?

William (and a little Randy)

Willliam and Randy had been out for two days before anything of interest happened.

"Hope master Moomow wont be too mad about us trying to solve this little problem on out own," Randy said. Suddenly a blur of motion flew into the camp and grabbed a bag and ran out again. Randy screamed, "Gack! My last Loaf!"

William sprung to his feet, but even he was a little slow. He turned to Randy, "Split up. I'll go this way. You chase after her."

William dropped his robe revealing his plain white shirt and blue cotton pants. He disappeared into the trees the opposite side she left on. He thought, If I'm correct she lives in this direction not the way she is running at the moment. She is just trying to lose him and get a chance to get around. If not Randy is that way anyhow.

Will stopped a few minutes later and he saw some russling in the trees. He froze. He saw a boy, no he looked closer and made out the very faint, he saw a girl uncover some leaves and climb into a underground burrow of some kind.

Will quietly left the area and found Randy back at camp.

"I found her," William announced. "Let's go."
